Ok, a few things.

1. Are you getting married at an all inclusive resort like Sandals?

2. We thought about this too when we were planning. Because you’re getting married in a foreign country and at a resort, you’re required to get married by one of their officiants. So we thought that to get around this, we would get married first in the U.S. and then just do a retie the knot sort of thing, no big deal. We found out that by doing it that way, it would actually be more expensive than just having one of their officiants do it. So what we’re doing is their officiant is going to do the important stuff ‘do you..’ yes ‘what about you’ yea…stuff and then we’re going to have our best friend and our moms do the other stuff to still make it special for us.

3. If you’re going to legally get married before you go down to Jamaica, then it doesn’t matter who marries you there b/c you’re already married. You could have your Brother-In-Law do it and it wouldn’t matter because he’s not actually doing the marrying. Have you spoken to your wedding planner in Jamaica about it? What’s the resort?
