@Lily_of_the_valley:  I’m sure that like most things wedding related, custom varies by locale. Here, the parents of said children would buy their outfits.

@Lily_of_the_valley: I don’t know about traditionally but if I could I would pay for them.  My flower girl is my neice so my sister is INSISTING on paying for the flower girl dress and accessories (shoes, basically).  However, if she wasn’t insisting on it I would be paying

My niece is my flower girl, but my sister is my Maid/Matron of Honor. I offered to pay for my niece’s dress, my sister is doing so much for me with a shower and bachelorette and she paid for her dress. It’s the least I can do.

Their mother (who is also my MOH’s mom, who is like my second mom) is paying for them and their hair piece). I’m giving them jewelry to wear as a present. And I’m getting their mom a gift of her own because she’s also hosting my shower.

I think their parents traditionally.  I do think it is nice to pay if you can, especially if their parents struggle with money or their parents are also in the wedding and have costs for them.
