I am not sure what tradition says about this, but I think it should be the bride

I paid for my flower girls dress, as well as my bridesmaids – otherwise it would have felt like I was forcing an additional expense on them.

Just like the adult attendants, they are supposed to be in charge of purchasing their own outits. So in this case, the parents of the FG/RB would pay for the outfit.

That said, most brides I know usually cover the cost of the Flower Girl outfit, especially when including multiple siblings from the same family, as that may be a significant financial burden on the parents. Depending on how close you are, you can gift the outfit (e.g. someone I know gifted the Ring Bearer outfit as a Christmas gift), though it doesn’t qualify as a standard bridal party gift, much like buying a BM’s dress for her doesn’t really qualify for a Bridesmaid or Best Man gift.

I’ve seen this go both ways. My dd is the flower girl in 4 weddings!! The bride bought the dress in all but 1 of the weddings.

Good to know. I’ll probably buy it but we will also be having her brother as the ringbearer… I have no idea how much child suits are.

In my experience, the flower girl’s parents pay for her dress, just as the BMs pay for their dresses.

The Flower Girls parents should… When you ask someone to be in your wedding, they are accepting with full responsibility. Bridesmaids understand that by accepting to be a Bridesmaid or Best Man they are buying their dress so in my opinion, if the parents of the flower girl are allowing and accepting their daughter to be a flower girl, than they are accepting to be responsible for getting the dress etc…..
