My Maid/Matron of Honor daughter will be my flower girl. I was thought the parents did, bit I texted her today asking what was the buget and got this reply ” IDK??”. Was I out of line?? Or am I over reacting? Confused.

In my experience, the bride buys.

Nope the parents of the flower girl generally pay.
I would send her a couple of options in different price points ($50, $100, $150) and see which she likes best.
I think it would be easiest to let the mom of the flower girl pick it out since it’s only one dress and most of the time it’s easiest to buy it off the rack. (I hate bridal shops and they always upcharge and make you get it tailored).

I plan on buying the dress for my flower girls. They are sisters and both mom and dad are in the wedding – buying a dress and renting a tux for themsevels.. I think it is a nice geusture to buy the dress for them.

@PinkMagnolia: That is what I thought too. I was a bit hesitant to not pay as I wasn’t sure what the etiquette was.
I sent my aunt three different options including a lower priced choice and she actually ended up like a fourth dress that I had ruled out due to cost.

I don’t know if there is a standard for this, in my case I am paying for the Flower Girl dress as I know my cousin does not rly have the money to buy it.

My cousin (who is the mother of my flower girl) bought the flower girl’s dress.

I’m not paying for the Flower Girl dress only because there are four or five already floating around in FI’s family (FI’s niece is our FG) that she could wear with maybe minor alteration. She was also christened just a year ago (she’s six, but they didn’t get around to christening her til late in the game), that white dress might still fit. I told her mom basically I don’t care what she wears as long as it’s white, and that I might get her a sash to match the bridesmaids dresses but I’m not sure yet. It’s such a minor part of the wedding, and a little girl is going to look ridiculously cute in any little white dress, it doesn’t much matter to me.
I would pay for one if that wasn’t the case though- they’re really not horrifically expensive.

When I was Flower Girl in two weddings when I was younger, my Mom paid for my dress.
We are paying for our Flower Girl Dress and Ring Bearer suit because we want to make it easier on our siblings.
