He picked it out and I would never even consider a style like that before but I dont think Ive ever seen aring as beautiful as mine. I am so happy for it. But I knew he has a great fashion sense.

We custom designed mine together. But let’s be honest, I was in charge of most things. He just said “double halo” and I picked the rest lol

My fi proposed without a ring.  It was a completely unplanned, organic moment and I cherish the memory.  Once he asked and I said yes, he said “I guess I need to get you a ring” to which I replied “yes you do”!  We started shopping/researching the very next day.  He set a generous budget and we spent weeks visiting jewlers and looking online for the best diamond ring we could find.  He didn’t have any opinion on any aspect of the ring other than I needed to love it and we not go over budget.

My soon-to-be-fiance (he hasn’t asked yet, ha!) let me pick my ring (though he did help/give input too!). I trust that he would have picked something I’d love, but I appreciated that he thought of me and wanted to make sure I got the perfect ring! 🙂

I picked mine out! Super thankful I did, when SO and I went to order a setting he loved all the solitaires with milgrain details.. I wanted a cushion pave halo lol so I definitely wouldn’t have gotten what I wanted!

We decided on a rough budget and went from there!

I did. And we paid for it together.

We went to go look and the first ring I tried on was exactly what I wanted. We didn’t really have a set budget, I wasn’t going to make him spend an absurd amount either. However, he decided to buy it right then and there, had it shipped to his house after it was resized. Then he proposed two weeks later. 🙂 It’s the perfect ring for me and we both love it.

lulun :  We picked out my first set together since it was cheap and temporary.  And the second (forever) set i designed with a budget in mind.

I felt a little stuck because, being very traditional, I wanted him to propose, not the other way around. We’d talked about engagement since the first date, so I knew it woul happen, but I needed to “DO” something. Also, I knew he was nervous about picking out the right ring, since we’d window shopped and there was something to dislike about every ring at the chain stores.

So I went to my the local jewelry store my sister worked at and we picked out 5 rings I liked! We also figured out a diamond size range I was comfortable with. Not too tiny, not to big, not too expensive…
A month or two later he went and picked one out (happened to be my sister’s favorite, too!), and proposed a few days after it came in.

He picked it- I had no idea at the time that he was even LOOKING at rings, let alone buying one! We’d had general conversations before so I knew it wasn’t going to be a diamond, I was fine with a gemstone. Just wish he’d done a bit more research about the durability of different stones first! Was hoping for a sapphire but ended up with a garnet, but I love my garnet (and its rose gold setting!) and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

He said he picked it because it was “the sparkliest.”

Together. I fell in LOVE with a couple different rings from Costco and he was scratching his head how I could love such different rings (one was emerald cut with pave band, the other was round with a halo and split shank…both yellow gold!). But then he got laid off and I had to cut my budget in half. I said yes to moissanite solitaire and he chose the 7.5 mm stone size. However I got a new ring for our 10 year anniversary that I wear more now, and I chose that 100%. He dared ask why I went with a peach/pink stone instead of a color that stood out more but I just said boy, it’s my ring and I love it! Haha

We were visiting another city with his mum and passed an antique shop. It was in the window, I fell in love with it.

He went back and got it a couple of weeks later, but it was a surprise 🙂
