My coworkers only. I’m only wanting immediate family to see it the morning of. Kinda like keeping a baby’s name a secret until it’s born. I won’t stand for critiquing and the possibility of my SO accidentally seeing it

before I started wedding dress shopping I had a friend who was a Maid/Matron of Honor at her best friends wedding and one day on FB I saw this friend post the picture of the bride in her dress well before the wedding to everyone on fb. I was mortified for the bride. I personally would have hated if complete strangers knew what I looked like in my dress before my fiancé did. With that being said, I sent a pic to my godmom, Maid/Matron of Honor and the people who were with me were the only ones who saw it. Even my mom didn’t want to take a picture because she wants to forget about it a little before the wedding so she’s some sort of surprised (we migt be crazy people lol). although I’m dying to show the world, It’s the most important dress I’ll ever wear so I want to keep it special for the day. But that’s just me! Just ask your friends not to send the photo to too many people if you are worried. 🙂

rrenee:  My mom and my Best Woman.  No one else.  When we had house guests before the wedding I put stand-in photos in my wedding organizer notebook – just in case anyone peeked.  LOL  The stand in dress was a monstrosity.  Nothing like the actual dress.

rrenee:  My fiance, my parents, my Maid/Matron of Honor, my friends, anyone who asked really. Still got a shitload of compliments on it on my wedding day. Life’s too short to not have people share in your excitement.

My mum and my sister were with me when I bought it, so they’ve seen it in person. My dad, step mother, Future Mother-In-Law and FSILs have seen a photograph of me wearing it. A colleague (who recommended the shop I bought it from) has seen a stock photo of the dress.

Honestly, I don’t see the big deal. If you want to show people, go for it. It’s going to look different when you’re all dolled up on the day anyway.

I have not shown my dress to anyone. I have real body issues and since this is a second wedding for me my family didn’t think that I should wear a wedding dress. I had so little support from my family that my fiancé went to the initial wedding dress shopping trip with me. He was the only encouraging voice. The whole experience has made me sad and I’m not sure that I will take them to alterations.

Fiance, mom, dad, sister, Future Mother-In-Law, coworkers, friends… lol as long as it’s not posted on social media I don’t think it’s a big deal to show people. Its not going to be anywhere close to what you’re going to look like on the actual day

My wedding is not until October, but the only person who’s seen the dress is my mom and I plan on keeping it that way. Future Mother-In-Law isn’t thrilled about it, but I do want it to be a surprise for everyone at the wedding. (It’s worth noting I don’t have any bridesmaids.)

I don’t think you have too much to worry about.  One of my friends showed me pics of the dresses she was looking at and I completely forgot what they looked like by the time the wedding rolled around.

I showed people pics and texted my closest friends pics of the dress … and posted here with my face covered … all that is fine I think as long as nobody does what mrsoreo2b mentioned and share your pics online.  Yeesh, that’s not a good Maid/Matron of Honor move.

Once while dress shopping, my mom was taking pictures and said something about texting them to my brother so he could see–ok mom, whatever–and my fiancé–oh no no no no no no!  Funny in retrospect.  It took forever before she would switch to a smart phone and now it’s text this, take photos of that, Google this, etc.  My mom is so cute and the absolute best!

My mom is the only one who has seen it in person. My Maid/Matron of Honor, Future Mother-In-Law, Future Sister-In-Law, Future Father-In-Law, Future Brother-In-Law, my aunt, my dad, my brother, and my brother’s fiancee have all seen pictures of it. Oh and some of my students who asked have seen pictures as well. I really wanted to show Fiance because I’m so excited about it but he wants it to be a surprise so he hasn’t seen it yet.

I showed quite a few people. My sister and Mother-In-Law actually saw me in the dress in person. I also showed pics to all my BM’s, other friends, and DH’s aunts. He did not want to see it beforehand, but if anyone was interested in mseeing my dress, I showed them.
