Inspired by another post …. how many people here on the Bee SCUBA dive?
I love diving and got certified last year while I was living out in CA. So far I’ve only dove off the CA coast (in the really cold water) and can’t wait until I get a chance to dive in the warmer Carribean (therefore not requiring 8mm wetsuits, hoods, etc)!
I’d also love to dive the Great Barrier Reef someday along with many other locals around SE Asia. I also dream of cage diving with sharks off South Africa.
Who else dives? What is the coolest place you’ve gone on a dive trip?

Oh man, it’s been so long! It was a blast though. I got certified in high school and got to go on a couple dives in the Cayman Islands. It was awesome. My husband wants to get certified and I’d love to go again so hopefully we can make it happen!

I do! I love it. I live in New England which is cold, but at least I’m close to water. 🙂

I’ve only done a resort course and two 40 foot dives, but I think Fiance and I will get certified this year.

I love diving. Do you get cold easily? Even in the Caribbean I need to wear a full wetsuit because otherwise I get so chilly underwater. The best place I dived was at Saba.

I would love to learn to Scuba, but I have inner ear issues that just won’t let me. I can hardly go under water. My husband is in the same boat; he’s blown an eardrum twice and can’t risk it. It’s really sad because we live in FL, are surrounded by springs, and can catch short, cheap flights to a ton of caribbean islands. Just about everyone is certified around these parts.

I’m not certified but I went on a 40 foot dive in Curacao on our honeymoon and it was awesome! So many fish and corals right from the shore! Curacao is great for diving and I heard that Bonaire is also really good.

I haven’t but Fiance loves it! Whenever we go on vacation he tries to get me to go SCUBA diving but I always wimp out. FI’s dream is to move to one of the Carolina’s and open up a place that teaches people how to SCUBA.

I love it! The best dive trips I’ve done are the blue holes off Belize, but Hawaii is amazing too! My Fiance doesn’t dive but I really want the two of us to take a class (him to get certified, me as a refresher) together and then dive on our honeymoon.

Darling Husband & I dived on our honeymoon in the Caribbean, it was amazing! We will do it again next time we go on vacation!

My parents are both certified SCUBA instructors, so I have been diving quite a lot. I went diving a few years ago on the Great Barrier Reef and I have to say it was some of the most boring diving I have ever done. The BEST diving was in the Similan Islands in Thailand – amazing!

I was certified when I was 16, but it’s been years since I’ve gone diving. I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing it again without a refresher course. I’ve been to several spots in Puerto Rico (home) and once dived in a wreck site in the British Virgin Islands, which was awesome. I’ve done plenty of snorkeling since my last dive, though, and it can also be pretty amazing.

I dive too! I got certified when I was in college and dove in the Channel Islands. So addicting…

@caitlanc: My husband bought a Groupon for certification classes at a local shop here in Dallas. I’m so excited for him to get certified too!
@ATP2011: I don’t get cold very easily and my mom who is always cold is fine in a shortie, gloves, and boots so I have a feeling I’ll be the same.
@amyellabella: The blue holes off Belize would be amazing! Sounds like such a neat dive!
@Miss Sydney: Thailand is definitely on my list of SE Asia destinations I need to dive. I’ve been there before but it was before I was certified. Lost opportunity! You’re so close to so much great diving – I’m jealous!

OK, all this SCUBA talk, and I checked into a local dive shop where I live. Since honey and I are going to Costa Rica for our honeymoon, thought that would be really cool!
Its only $400 p/p – does that seem reasonable? I am thinking of surprising him with it for a late Valentines Day gift (or early wedding present $400 is a lot of $$$$).
