Yes.. This should have been taken care of earlier. My wedding is in three weeks and I’m still confirming hair and makeup.
My future sister in law offered to do it for me, I would go to sephorah and get nice products I could keep.
Or,
I work at a spa that does makeup with Jane Iredale products.
I have someskin problems so I really want my makeup to do its job, but we’ll also be tight for time for pictures as my photographer is coming from my fiancée city, 40 minutes away, working in about 30 minutes of pictures before we head off to the ceremony.
I’m kind of worried about the whole thing so any advice would be helpful, thanks so much, A stressed out a Rachel

Unless your SIL is an experienced MUA, or really good (and fast) with makeup, I’d go with the spa due to your time crunch.

MissCountryGirl727: Second this.
Being able to do your own makeup nicely for special occassions is one thing. Doing full bridal makeup on someone else the morning of their wedding in a time crunch is a whoooooooole nother thing. Go with the spa. Since you work there, you’d probably get a discount anyway!

As a certified makeup whore, makeup at my wedding is my biggest concern.
I DO NOT recommend going to Sephora. I am a VIB rouge which means I can go in and get my makeup done whenever I want and I usually don’t like it…not that the makeup is “bad” persay, but I either look overdone or the MUA did the opposite of what I asked. I would get the makeup done at your spa.
On the other hand, I have done makeup for a few of my friends wedding, and it turned out great. It really depends on the makeup look you are going for. If your SIL is good at doing her own makeup, she may be good at doing yours. Whichever route you choose… DO A TRIAL RUN BEFORE HAND, that way everyone is on the same page.

You may also try calling a beauty school. There may be MUA that aren’t licensed yet that are free-lancing, they’d likely be available last minute

My wedding was this weekend, and I actually went contrary to what everyone else recommended for you.
I am terrible at doing my own hair/makeup, but also did NOT want to pay the outrageous money that most people ask for when doing makeup for a wedding. The day of my bachelorette party, I actually went to Sephora, set up a makeover, and had someone do my makeup. I was very particular in the style (very light, just a little bit more than usual) and NOT heavy at all. I told her I wanted my eyes a bit more done, but nothing crazy dramatic. I loved a few of the colors she used, and I ended up buying the eye shadow palette.
My bridesmaid is not a pro by any means, but offered to do my makeup for me on the day of- AND SHE DID GREAT! I showed her the colors I wanted to use, and let her go to town, and she did a truly wonderful job. Since she is a close friend, she knows the kind fo makeup I wear normally, and since we both wear the same “type” of makeup style (clean and sophisticated, not over-the-top of grandma either), I trusted her completely.
If you like the style of makeup your Future Sister-In-Law does and uses on her self, give it a trial run- why not? If not, I would suggest going somewhere else. But don’t write it off just because you don’t know- give it a go, and then you will know whether it can work or not 🙂
