    Both of you!

    Him only!

    You only!

It's best to leave it off for both of you!

We’re avoiding all Dr. titles except for FI’s father, who is an MD. Fiance and his mom are both PhDs, as are our Maid/Matron of Honor and Best Man. My PhD isn’t done yet (boo!), and everyone else involved would prefer to just be called Ms. or Mr. unless it’s a professional setting that requires the title. I’ve been told by folks at the very top of their fields in academia that it’s rather gauche to insist on Dr. in a social setting unless you have an MD.

The only place you’ll see a Dr. is in the “Mr. and Mrs. ArtDeco and Dr. FI’s dad’s name and Mrs. FI’s mom’s name request your presence at the marriage of their children….” on the invitation.

That said, we attended a wedding two weeks after Fiance defended his dissertation and were touched that the bride used Dr. ArtDeco on his place card to acknowledge his achievement.

Our introduction will be simple, as I am keeping my last name and we’ll be introduced by our first names only (i.e. “Here are Jane and Jim!”).
