I like it when the Dad lifts the veil after he has given her away and before she faces her groom.

That way there is nothing between them when they say their vows.

Back in the day  the groom lifted the veil before he kissed the bride.

My dad lifted my veil right after he walked me down the aisle and before he “gave me away” to my husband.  It was actually pretty funny because we didn’t discuss what to do beforehand, so I had to whisper “dad, lift my veil” right after he kissed me.  And as he was doing this, my mom smacked his hand and said “What are you doing? the groom is supposed to do that!” 

So it’s a good thing you’re thinking about it now!  I think if you don’t want your blusher covering your face during the ceremony, then have your dad lift it before he presents you to your groom =)

@pandaboo: make sure he gets a chance to practice lifting the veil so he makes sure that it lays down and looks nice. I have seen several weddings where the veil was sticking up very awkwardly.
