Eek, tough predicament. Are you and your brother close? Perhaps your brother can stand in as your “Man of honor” and even out the party to 4 each side?

As for your FI’s good friends, you could ask some to be ushers, maybe a funny, confident one could be your MC for the night.. or perhaps let them give short (emphasis on the short) speeches?

Why not just have it be uneven? This is a representation of who stands beside you in real life, why manufacture another person, or cut someone?

Worst case scenario? A guy escorts two women down the aisle at the same time. Hardly a disaster.

@LilOtter24: You could ask him to not ask his friends to be groomsmen and you both only pick two, maid of honor, best man, bridesmaid, groomsman…. or you can each just pick one? or you can ask him to not ask ONE of his friends?

I have chosen 5, and my fiance has chosen 5. We are toying with the idea of only having a best man and maid of honor. What we want in terms of the wedding is going to cost more than we anticipated (it’s sick… a wedding is like a bottomless money pit and we need to stick to our budget). I’m thinking about the bouquets, boutonnieres, and the bridal party gifts… it might be better to have one? UGh! It’s tough… for us it’s either 2 or 10 total, no in betweens lol. good luck!
