Hi Hive! Just had a quick question for all of you. Our chapel already has a piano in it, but I do not care for piano music for the ceremony, and would prefer strings. I also do not want to hire a strings quartet because a few of the songs I have in mind for the ceremony music are songs that The Vitamin String Quartet does and I’m not sure that a strings quartet could a) learn the songs in time or b) learn them and perform them how I like them, which is how The Vitamin String Quartet does them.
So, I’d really prefer to have the ceremony music just be played from a pre-loaded CD with the appropriate songs on it, or some such way (like from a playlist). The problem is, I don’t know who to get to do this! Who did yall have to run your ceremony music for you? I guess I would just need someone who does this often and knows how to smoothly transition from each segment of the ceremony music to the next without big gaps or breaks and who has a decent enough system/speakers to make the music sound good. We are not having a DJ at the reception, but I emailed a couple to see what they’d charge to do the ceremony music alone and one guy quoted me $500. To play a 20 minute long CD of songs I give to him! That’s just crazy.
Any ideas, girls? Who did you use to do this? What’s my best option for this? Thanks for any advice!
