My future in laws will be hosting a rehearsal dinner at a restaurant. We’re inviting my parents, his parents, and our bridal party and their significant others. Both of my siblings will be there (they are both in the wedding party) but Fiance doesn’t speak to his sister, so she’s not in our wedding party and not coming to the rehearsal dinner

We are having a rehearsal dinner at a restaurant. We’re inviting the bridal party and their dates, our parents, siblings, and grandparents. We will have 32 people there.

ashley01:  everyone involved in the actual wedding needs to be there. So your officiant, bridesmaids, groomsmen, parents, grandparents, ushers, flower girl, ring bearer, MOC, etc. Their partners should also be invited since there is a dinner afterwards.

ashley01:  nope. The rehearsal is so that you can run through the ceremony a couple times to make sure people know what to do. Then the dinner is kind of like a thank you for taking the time to come to the rehearsal.

ashley01:  We invited immediate family (parents, siblings), any family that we knew was already in town, and a few friends. Our bridal party was our family only. This included my grandparents, an aunt and uncle from my side. For DH, it was 2 sets of aunts/uncles that had flown in, plus a cousin and her husband. It also included a brother of an aunt/uncle (the aunt/uncle were our host couple), and a cousin. We also invited some close friends, some who lived in town and another couple that had arrived in town that day. I think 23 had 5 friends there.

We had it at a local gastropub, and served pizza and a taco/nacho bar. You could play pool, too.

Many people invitr their entire family though it is not required. Tradition also includes out of town guests. For a destination wedding, pretty much everyone gets invited.

Ours was very casual so we invited all the out of town people.  I loved having an extra night with the people who don’t live near us (and therefore we don’t see as often).

We’re not having a rehearsal per se (we will rehearse, but in private). We’re doing a cocktail party the night before and are inviting all Out of Town guests, plus family and local close friends. The out-of-towners are spending a bunch of money on flights and hotels to come celebrate with us, so I think it’s polite to host them both nights they’ll be here.
