It’s looking like I’m going to have 2 showers.
One thrown by friends (a night-time, untraditional shower) and the other that my mom wants to throw for me (but is stressing out about and will likely be planned by me) – I know, I know, that’s a topic for another thread.
My mom wants to do a traditional shower – an afternoon tea, kind of thing.
I figured the friends shower would be for friends and the mom shower would be for family & older family friends.
The question though is – what do I do about some of the older ladies that I consider to be friends (that aren’t family acquaintances)? Do I just figure out who would prefer which shower, based on their tastes?
I know a couple of them would probably like the untraditional shower more – but, I wonder if they’d feel out of place (since they are 30 years older than most of the people in attendance).
Then again, if I invite the older friends to the traditional shower – it might seem out of place because this group of ladies (about 10) all know each other for years and it would clearly be a family (non-friend) affair.
AND, probably most important: which do I invite FI’s family to (his mom, his sister and his sister-in-law)???
