I’m having a huge debate with my Mom right now about who gets a save the date. We purchased enough for family and friends with extras just in case we forgot someone. I thought I read somewhere that all Bridal Party members receive a save the date. My Mom is telling me no because why would you waste postage when they already know they’re in the wedding. Besides, there are more friends she would like to use those save the dates for.
I’m a stickler for etiquette so I want to make sure I’m doing things right. Please help!

I sent them to everyone invited to our wedding including the wedding party. They should definitely be included!

@MrsMattsonToBe: I snet one to everyone on the guest list, including the Bridal Party. You can always hand deliver some, as I did, if you want ot save a little on postage.

@Sunshine23: Thank you! I just needed one person to be in agreement with me.

I would send them to the wedding party. I did. And for every wedding I’ve been in I’ve received one.

I have always recieved an STD being in the Bridal Party.
But in reality, I wouldn’t of thought it was odd if I didn’t recieve one, because we do know the date. Plus the Groomsmen prob don’t care so much about the STD. So I see your moms point 🙂

yes i agree, send them to your Wedding Party. and i’m confused as to why your mom is making such a big deal when it will save you no more than a couple bucks in postage, and there’s no reason she can’t send one to her friends as well as you send one to yours. the only etiquette in regards to STD’s that i know of is that you don’t send one to people you don’t intend to, or aren’t sure if you’re going to, invite. which is just common sense. the Wedding Party gets an invitation too, why wouldn’t they get a STD?
