I need some help! My mom and I can’t figure out what vendors usually expect a tip. Who are you tipping? The vendors that we have are: venue/cateror (same location), photographer, videographer, photo booth, florist, wedding coordinator, hair/makeup stylist (2 different people, one for each), the DJ, and the bartenders that are employed by the venue/cateror. The tip for the bartender is already included in the overall price that we are paying for the venue/cateror. Thanks in advance!

My understanding is that you don’t tip people who set their own price and/or are getting the full pay themselves but you tip the employees of those that you are paying. So if your cateror is the owner of the business, you don’t tip, but if the cateror is just an employee of the caterering company, you would tip them. But I could be wrong

More than likely, you are already tipping the venue/ caterer through the service charge. that’s a synonym for gratuity.

below is who we tipped:
Hair & make up stylist
We didn’t tip the venue/caterer as there was already a 20% service and gratuity included in the price pp
Bartender – we had an open bar but bartender had a glass jar on the bar – so guests were gracious and tipped them

If I can remember correctly, we tipped our band, photographer, hair, and photobooth.
I was almost going to tip our officiant, as she was very patient with a couple people from our wedding party who were SUPER close to being late for our rehearsal, and she charges extra if people are late. I was so mad at their lateness, and hated to be an inconvenience. But, payment was due at rehearsal and we didn’t give extra the day of the wedding.
Reception venue already had gratuity on our bill, so no additional tip was given.
