Me and my fiancee will be walking together. This is my ancestors’ tradition and I think it is beautiful. No handing a woman like she were an object.

My father was a ‘dead beat” dad.  But his mother, my nana said that I should “honor” him anyway.  So not to upset her, (96yrs old), I asked both my father & my uncle (who raised me) to walk me down the aisle.  Compromise was necessary. 1 revised pix

ellynmar: I’ll be walking down the aisle with my fiance, which I am very excited about. Do you feel strongly that the person walking with you be male? Otherwise, try to open up the criteria a bit. Any family/friends who you feel have really supported you? What about walking with your maid of honor or bridesmaids, depending on how many you have?

I’m going to walk down alone. I’m a grown up woman and not anyone’s to give away (espeically not my father who is disintereted in me and the wedding)

I’m walking with my Fiance. He is going to escort both our mother’s in first, then our father’s are walking in with their SO’s.

He will come back to escort me while the other’s are walking.

Not exactly non-traditional, but my dad and my stepdad will be walking me down together. I’ve knwn both of my stepparents since I was 3, so it wouldn’t be right to exclude my stepdad.

ellynmar:  My father will be at my wedding but since it’s a second marriage for me, I am having my son walk me down the aisle.
