Hey All ,

I’m with ya with the whole diet thing …OMG ..My fiancee and me go together ..but it seems only one of us is losing anything ..and it certainly isn’t me ..i hate that !  We go the gym 3x’s a wk ..and the only reason i go is because theres a pool there ..lol

For food wise ..i would suggest Special K bars ..there only 90 calories and there good ..even the chocolate drizzle ..lol..those help me …and eat fruit …and if you work in an office all day like me …grab a couple of co workers and  walk around the place during lunch …espec on those oh so great days …i know it will suck to go back to work ..but it will feel good …

I drink alot of coffee ( i work 4 days a wk ..10 hr days ..plus OT and gym ..need it) but i make sure i have it Light with Equal ..not as good as real sugar but after the first wk or so you won’t be able to tell the difference ..

 GOOD LUCK GIRLS !

I’m with ya still!

Yesterday was a "treat" day — we went to a food festival and I had a cheesesteak, ice cream sandwich and half a burger and a few fries. Walking around the whole time kept me feeling sluggish and worked off a few cals. it also took me through lunch and dinner (and I still didn’t eat after 7 so thats good!)

Today I had one low fat poptart (so almost 4 points) cause I’ve been craving poptarts for like a week! Surprisingly I haven’t been really hungry today (must still be full from yesterday). I’m making some yummy filet mignon with corn and chili cheese sauce for dinner tonight so I guess my body is saving up the points for then! I also walked 1 mile to the grocery store to get the goods (so 2 miles total).

Fiance has noticed my little weight loss today. He usual doesn’t comment (good or bad) because if he says "did you lose weight" I think th eis scared I’ll be offended. So I guess it has been a bit of a difference! I went a little shopping today and was able to put on a pair of size 6 pants but they were still a little snug on the booty so I’ll stick with my 8 and wear a belt once they begin to get a little big (or I’ll get them taken in if needed). They were $14 at The Gap so I had to get them 🙂

@GabGal-Hooray for your scale triumph!!

I am a vegetable juice fan and a half!!! It is so delicious and is so so so filling!! it;s a really good appetizer to drink while you cook dinner.

I have challenged myself to burn 3500 cals this week with exercise. Today I am thinking that was a little ambitious. Hey-if I reach half that it can hardly be considered a failure! It’s a Win-Win!

Do any of you watch Cook Yourself Thin on Lifetime? I can watch it on demand and it’s really cool. It’s all about balance and learning how to cook more figure friendly versions of the food you love!

I have 81 days til we get married and I have 2 goals: lose my muffin top and get my upper arms to quit waving back when I wave.

Back in March I went to Hawaii. Two months before that I went on the Special K diet and went to the gym 4-5 times a week. Gave up my Starbucks and Diet Coke too! It totally worked but after the trip, I stopped going to the gym all together and started eating whatever I wanted. Ugghhhh, I had it then I lost it!

I like the Special K diet though. I get hungry really easily and it keeps me feeling pretty satisfied. I do the cereal in the morning, a Protein Snack Bar a couple hours later, a Meal Bar and raw veggies with fat-free ranch for lunch, another Protein Snack Bar in the late afternoon, and whatever I want for dinner (within reason of course).

I just started it again yesterday, finally got my butt to the gym. Man I am out of shape…

Anyone a Miami bride who would like to hook up in Gables/South Miami/Key Biscayne area from some runs or something? My FH isnt the most motivating in getting me to work out except for when I turn super bitchy and he knows it b/c I am not working out which is my natural high.

I got back into the gym last week ( thanks to the FH renewing my membership for my birthday) and tonight is my first night off since Friday – I have gone four days in a row and heading in tomorrow. Anyone go to 24 hour fitness in the grove by any chance?

I hit my heaviest, b/c I have been off from law school for a month and not having my usual 13 hour days, just working and hanging/going out which is something I never get to do b/c of school. Well I gained 5 pounds during the last two months & hit 155 (Im 5’8 and that’s the heaviest I have ever been) Well I have lost 2 pounds so far and hoping to be 143 by end of July.

Let’s all support each other – we dont want to look back at our pictures and think "Damn, I should have worked out some more"

The sad thing is that I have always worked out especially within the last three years & I guess I am on a downer & hopefully this will pick me back up!

Thanks for starting this thread 🙂

I am also wanting to loose weight, but I am in college and unfortunately I am on a budget and havet to eat fast food sometimes.  I would really like to lose about 30 pounds before my wedding.  My fiance can eat anything he wants and stays skinny.  I had lost alot of weight a couple of years ago, but now I have gained it all back and am so frustrated. I cant get motivated for some reason.  I have joined a gym and I think I am going to try weight watchers.  Has anybody lost any weight with weight watchers?

@grako5:  I’ve lost 22 lbs in 3 months with Weight Watchers and lots of working out.  It’s a great program!

cynthias225:  I am glad to see someone has had success.  What types of foods do you eat?  When I go to the grocery store Im just not sure what foods are good to buy! I went away for college so its quite simple to run to the drive through, but I would like to start cooking and getting healthier.   Have you tried the smartones by weight watchers?

grako5 — If you are cooking with a microwave, I’d pick up a lean cuisine or smartones (both have WW points listed). They are definitely a better option than fast food. I usually have a bowl of Special K or Puffins for breakfast (3 points since I barely have milk) or I rice cake with PB. Either keeps me full for a few hours. For lunch I try to have a salad but if I’m out of salad, I’ll have 1/2 a sandwich (turkey and cheese on one slice of wheat bread) and some yogurt (most yogurts are around 3 points). Because I eat lighter during the day, I usually have a few more points available for dinner so I just cut down my portions on whatever Fiance are having.

I also try not to eat after 7 PM. This may be a little difficult for you being a college student but 9 PM is definitely feasible!

@grako5:  I love to cook, so I have modified a lot of my recipes and just figured out how many WW  points they are.  I think it would definitely be challenging to do in college, but there are some undergrads at my meetings showing that you can be successful 🙂  The Smart Ones are pretty good, you just have to be careful, because they have a lot of sodium in them.  WW focuses on "filling foods," fruits, veggies, proteins, etc., so those would be good to start with at the grocery store.  They give you lists of filling foods, so it’s helpful.  The beauty of the program is that you can eat so many different things, I’m not bored like I have been on other diets in the past.  I’m honestly looking at this as a lifestyle change, not a diet.  The biggest thing for me has been cutting my portion sizes so they’re normal.  Good luck!!!
