I’m not pregnant, but I would have my Fiance, my mom, and his mom in the room. Others can wait in the waiting room if they’d like (it’s this unwritten rule in my family that everyone shows up if they can to wait it out!), but I’d be okay either way. I’m very close with my mom and my FI’s mom.

However, Fiance is going active duty, and there’s a chance it’ll only be him and I when I delivery depending on where we’re located.

I had just my Darling Husband and my doula in the room for the first 14 hours or so. Then after 26 hours of labor I ended up getting an epidural and once I got that I let my mom come into the room. While I was in natural labor, I didn’t want anyone there who would distract my focus. (We didn’t go to the hospital until about 12 hours in so it was just myself and Darling Husband at home for a while)

I’m 27 weeks and planning on just having Darling Husband in the room. I don’t want the pressure of having family in the waiting room. We will let them know once baby is here and then they can feel free to come and visit.

Not pregnant yet, but I want my Darling Husband to be there. Not sure if I’m really comfortable with him watching the whole thing in all its glory, though….if I shit myself or something during the delivery (I hear it’s been known to happen), I DO NOT want him witnessing that, although I’m sure he’d be nice about it and all. I also want my mom to be there and don’t really care which parts of it she witnesses or doesn’t witness….I just know I’m going to want my mommy. Everyone else can wait in the waiting room.

My baby came over 2 months early and everything happened so fast. Dh was at work over 2 hours away,  so my bff came to take me to the hospital.  Dh came right after our ds was born and I am kind of glad he missed all the scary, intense, gory moments. Ds heartrate was dropping rapidly and I almost needed an emergency c-section but Dr said there was not enough time. He ended up using the vacuum and I pushed as hard as I could too,  glad dh wasn’t there to see all that. Ds was born early but is today a happy,  healthy 1year old.

We went to the hospital at midnight with me, Darling Husband, my mom, my sister and her 1.5 year old. (They were all staying with us). Darling Husband texted his parents saying we were admitted and he’d keep them updated. My mom and nephew slept in the waiting room most of the night and then Darling Husband joined them when I got the epidural, while my sister hung out with me. When I pushed, it was Darling Husband and my sister in the room. After she was born, Darling Husband texted his family saying we were getting close if they wanted to head over, but no one came to see the baby until we were in recovery 2 hours later.

My sister was in during delivery for support and to take photos and I’m so glad she was! She got great shots of baby coming out, our reactions when the doc said “it’s a girl”, Darling Husband cutting the cord, etc

Just my husband, but it’s a bit different for us since we are 1,200 miles away from all of our friends and family. I would only want him in the room with me if the situation was different, though. We probably wouldn’t have told anyone I was in labor, or in my case, being induced.
