This might sound dumb but… do you wear your ring 100% of the time? I see some people who say “I NEVER take my ring off” but is that just a figure of speech? Like, do you keep it on while you are showering, doing the dishes, remodeling your house, etc? I’ve never had a several thousand dollar diamond ring before so I don’t know the protocol! I have a solid gold ring that I wear 99.9% of the time, but I am worried about damaging an engagement ring! Help me out!

When I get home and have cooking/cleaning/laundry to do, it goes on my ring holder next to my bed.

I take my rings off for showering and anything wear my hands will get super dirty, but my sister-in-law wears her ring 100% of the time. Showering, cooking, you name it. It’s also her only ring, she doesn’t have a wedding band.

I take mine off to shower, paint, cook with my hands (think meatloaf, bread, etc.), or do the dishes. I also take it off before I go to the gym. But other than that, I wear it all the time. To work, to bed, running errands.

I wear mine 99.9% and so far no physical damage! I just dont shower with it otherwise I have it on. But my entire engagement ring/wedding set is insured through my insurance company and it costs me $3.50/month. So although I cant replace the sentimental value, no matter what happens to it, if its stolen or lost or damaged its insured for $6,000.

Yes, I wear it *all* the time unless I’m painting or staining furniture. It stays on when I shower, do dishes, laundry, clean, walk the dog, sleep, work out, etc… I imagine I’d take it off if I did rock climbing or anything hand intensive that could really damange it, but I don’t do any of that so there’s no need to worry about damaging it doing normal day to day things.
ETA: Oh, and I do take it off to put on lotion since that’s a pain to clean out… but then put it right back on.

I wear mine all of the time except when it’s weight day at the gym.

I wear it out but it comws off as soon as I get in And stays home if I go to the gym or get my nails done. I love my ring, but I’m a clutz and roam around my house like a monkey. It’s probably safer on the ring holder.

I wear it almost all the time. I only remove it for really messy things like painting or cooking that includes squishing/kneading with my hands (like meatloaf). I definitely wear it in the shower and while sleeping and at the gym and such. I’m much more conerned about losing my ring than about getting it a little dirty. I can always clean it!

I feel like I wear mine all the time, but I take it off to sleep and when I do anything I feel might damage it. I have a ringholder by my bed that I use. I take it off to sleep because it has tiny pave stones and I’d hate to mess up the prongs 🙂

The only time I take it off is if I’m doing manual labor like home improvement or helping someone move, etc.

“roam around my house like a monkey” is my new favorite phrase

Yes, I wear mine 24/7 pretty much. It’s on when I shower, clean, do dishes, garden, etc.. Pretty much the only time it comes off is if I’m baking something super sticky that involves using my hands (mostly just bc I’m lazy and don’t wanna have to clean it after) or if I’m painting and that’s it. DH takes his ring off when he showers & gardens but otherwise it’s also on 24/7.
I’m really bad at losing things and the last thing I wanna lose is my engagment ring & wedding band! I lost some gorgeous amethyst stud earrings DH got me years ago when we first got serious and didn’t find them until 3 yrs later! I’m also a klutz so I made sure DH got me a not so dainty set that would hold up to lots of bangs and bumps (mostly all channel set) so I’m not too worried anything will happen to it.

I seriously never take my ring off. I think I’ve taken it off once since I got it back from being soldered together. I wear it in the shower, doing my hair, eating food, pooping, sleeping, laughing, writing, typing, sitting, standing. You get the point, ha.

I really only ever take it off when I’m handling raw meat or using a really strong cleaner, like bleach. Other than that, it’s always on my finger – mostly because I’m just so paranoid that I’ll misplace it.
