So I’ve been putting together a list of favorite planners and vendors I see online, but now I’m really confused about who does what? And who I’ll need to hire?
I orginally thought a planner did everything, but now I’ve read that planning is just the logistical process, and design is the pretty-making. I actually don’t need much help with logistics other than someone coordinating everyone closer to the date, because I will know which vendors I want to use, and I’m good with budgets and timelines… but design… I definitely want assistance with, as I’m not the best with small details or overall decor..
So my question is who should be designing? I’m seeing design services listed on “full service” wedding planner websites, on florist websites, and on others who just call themselves “event designers” (also encompassing lighting, and in some cases entertainment).
If I go with a florist “designer” does that mean they don’t know as much about rentals? or vice versa with lighting/entertainment… are they less skilled at flowers? Are planners and designers better if not the same person?
