MarriedToMyWork :  Just because you don’t believe God exists doesn’t mean he’s not there 😉

Sunfire : I thank you as well for being so gracious in your responses too. I would imagine in certain circles (including on the Bee) that it is difficult to be a Trump supporter. In response to what he says vs. what she’s done: We’re talking about Donald Trump here. What the man (or anyone for that matter) says out of his mouth is a direct reflection on his character, values, and actions. If he’s willing to say in the public sphere all the vile things he has, I have very little doubt he has and will do horrible things to other people. He has very little respect for his fellow man, especially if they are not his color, culture, or don’t have his pocket strings, and has zero respect for women.

Plus, do you really want his gold-digging robot of a wife to be the First Lady of the US? Wouldn’t that be EMBARRASSING to you??? Furthermore, all politicians have done the exact same crap that Hillary has…it’s a part of the job, unfortunately. They are ALL heinous. Trump is certainly no better man than Hillary a woman. I shudder to think what Trump would have in store for this nation. And as a black woman, I’m in a double negative position to Trump; I simply cannot afford for that dude to become president. He could give two shits about my concerns and overtly expressed that quite clearly in the debate. It’s a shame too because before he started pretending to be a politician, I really liked him; I thought he was hilarious. This isn’t funny anymore. Clinton at least PRETENDS to pander so I’ll take it…and I’m not even a democrat.

maymrswinks : If God is there, I will cheerfully accept that I should have made Pascal’s Wager and give Him a “well played” wave from amidst the flames.  😉

Also, I have to say that one of the reasons that I hope that Clinton wins is that so the white nationalists who are a part of Trump’s support are further marginalized in American politics so that we can move toward a future where we have two candidates who both have strong–not even just mediocre–records when it comes to supporting the rights and dignity of all citizens.

Sunfire :  Drat, you’ve disappeared.  I just thought my last missive was incredibly logical and convincing.  I thought that you would be bound to agree with me. Common ground at last.

I shall now go out for a walk and not think about politics even for a microsecond. Have a nice afternoon.

maymrswinks :  I just hope it was a genuine laugh at the notion of me undergoing some eternal punishment and having to accept that I was wrong about God (which would naturally upset me more than the punishment), and not a rueful “like that’ll ever happen” laugh over the idea that we might ever be able to have two candidates in an American presidential election who both have strong records of supporting the rights and dignity of all citizens.

MarriedToMyWork :  It was a genuine laugh at the idea of someone waving “well played” to God amidst hellish flames. That idea was indeed farcical to me, as my idea of hell is certainly not actually burning in flames. Eternal punishment is not humorous to me, however.

Will we EVER have two candidates with strong records of supporting the rights and dignity of ALL citizens? I certainly hope so. But sadly, I am not sure. Far too many people disagree on what people deserve what rights and I don’t see humanity changing on that front anytime soon. It’s like asking “why can’t we all just get along?” 🙁

maymrswinks :  Actually I think Trump’s wife is light years better than Hillary’s husband.  We don’t need Slick Willie anywhere near the White House ever again.  He was impeached!  Who knows what antics he’d get up to if he was relegated to House husband, I shudder to imagine.

So far Melania Trump has conducted herself with grace and dignity during this election, I don’t have a problem with her.
