One of my co workers had only gained 12lbs and was in her 3rd trimester, then gained 10 POUNDS IN ONE WEEK! She still has NO idea how!

Yep. I went on vacation between my two week appointments and I gained 6 lbs in that time.

At 34 weeks, I’m up 33 lbs so I’ll definitely be going over the recommended 35 lb max weight gain.

@tnbellebee:  I am well on my way to gaining an exorbitant amount of weight. I had already hit 34 pounds at my last appointment last week and I was only 30 weeks. I’m not looking forward to what the scale is going to say when I go back in two weeks.

@Sweethart:  It may not be any consolation to you, but I have a coworker who is teensy tiny who gained 60 lbs with her first child and she’s back to the same size she was before (still teensy tiny).  She said she didn’t eat any differently before or after her pregnancy, but a person’s body is going to do what it’s going to do.

Also, for her, the first 40 lbs came off very quickly with her not doing anything, and the last 20 lbs took 6-7 months.

I’m only 25 weeks and I’m also gaining more than I should.  Hope that helps!

@BookGirrl:  Thanks 🙂 I’m not too worried, my OB hasn’t said anything, and the weight is very much in my belly, lol. My mom gained 60 pounds with me and she’s a teenie tiny lady too. I’m hoping it’s relatively easy to lose after though. I have resigned myself to a summer of tankini’s for swiming and loose fitting tops and dresses.

Same thing happened to me at my 32 week appt, I went up 6 lbs!  But at my 34 week appt, I hadn’t gained anything.   I think it depends on your body and also the growing baby, and growth spurts, etc.  I wouldn’t be too worried.

@tnbellebee:  I gain weight in a pattern whereby I don’t gain weight at all for a couple of weeks and then get within striking distance of the high end of what you’re supposed to gain, so I am feeling pretty good about how things might turn out. And then I gain five pounds OVERNIGHT. Like, weigh myself before I go to bed, weigh myself in the morning and BOOM – five more pounds. And then I try and convince myself that like, maybe I am really constipated, or something? But I am not. I am just five pounds heavier. And this has been going on literally since the night after I got my BFP.

@MsKeee:  Right there with you!!!!  Any way we can blame our weight gains on our GERD?  lol
