@DrRoberta:  I went to this board to post this EXACT question!  I haven’t been to a florist yet, but am anticipating severe sticker shock!  I just went onto Proflowers.com and they had some nice stuff, but I’m not even sure what I need…..I have to sit down and map out my wedding party and what I will need.

We got ours in bulk through Sam’s Club and they were beautiful! We kept it simple and got 200 red roses–they were pretty inexpensive, I think around $160. My DOC made our bouquets and centerpieces and everything ran according to plan.

SAMS!!! I looked everywhere and they were by far the cheapest and had great guarantees. Now, my yellow roses ended up coming in yellow/orange but they refunded me for it. I also used Fifty flowers for the types of flowers that Sams did not carry.

@DrRoberta:  this is what I did. I got everything but the centerpieces from my florist. Hydrengas will probably be expensive but thats just my experience!

I think I am getting mine from Sams.

@DrRoberta:  Thanks, good luck to you, too!  Sounds like you are on your wayand your choice sounds pretty!  I think I’m leaning towards cala lilies to start…..I want it simple, clean and elegant.

I just did Sam’s Club flowers for my wedding last Saturday.  I worked with an amazing local florist and had them shipped to her to arrive last Tuesday.  The white dendrobium orchids were beautiful – like stunningly beautiful! She said they were the nicest and in the best shape of any orchids they have ever received from any supplier.  The red mokara’s were also beautiful, just shorter than I was hoping but ended up looking perfect when I paired them with the white ones.  I also got daisies and they were perfect as well — but I was expecting that….daisies are pretty standard and hardy 🙂 The orchids were what I was worried about since I really wasn’t 100% sure what to expect!  I saved a ton of money and the results were amazing, had comments all day from the florist, to the staff at the venue and the guests.

I used Fifty Flowers & it worked out very well. They arrived at the right date/time that I asked them to be delivered and were basically freshly cut – I stuck them in ice water overnight to ensure they bloomed to their max capacity & they did 🙂

So glad to hear the great reviews for Sam’s Club.  I am getting married in November, and am planning to order picasso calla lilies, carnations, and roses from there.

I ordered my flowers last week from http://www.growersbox.com. I read great reviews about them, but wanted to know a bit more before taking the plunge and ordering, so I called to speak with a rep first. Since I’ve never done anything like wedding flowers before, I had a lot of questions. The rep was SOOOO helpful and took the time to make sure I knew everything up front before placing my order. He even spent time showing me flowers from other websites to get a really accurate depiction of the color purple I would get with the anemones I was ordering.

The prices are reasonable and there is a fairly large selection of flowers and colors too!
