Hey!
Does anyone know if there are any local flower markets or wholesale flower places in the lower east side of Michigan? We are having our at home reception in Jackson but I don’t know the east side of Michigan very well. Thanks!! =)

Not sure how many flowers you’ll need, but Whole Foods has a good selection that’s reasonably priced. Last Spring I got a ginormous bouquet of peonies for less than $10.
There’s a company called A Moment in Time (http://www.momentsintime.biz/) that’s primarily advertised as event coordination, but the owner (Jennifer) does flowers as well and she gets them wholesale.
Also, I know the owner of a farm in Dexter (http://fieldfarms.com/index.htm) who has flowers galore once the warm weather hits. She’s my step aerobics instructor, so I see her on a regular basis. 🙂 Let me know if there’s anything I can do to scope things out on this side of the state!

@tartlet: I *heart* you tart! =) I think Field Farms is what I am looking for. I am trying to get my hands on 50-100 hot pink peonys for the end of June (and possibly other flowers, still working on decor). What is the best way to get a hold of her to see if I can pre-order something like this?

Hmm, that’s a good question. I’d try the e-mail route first to speak to Janna. Feel free to say you heard about her via Holly from Power Sculpt! I’m on the road with Mr. Tartlet right now for some of his residency interviews, so unfortunately the soonest I’ll see her in person is this coming Monday. I’ll send her a PM on Facebook, though, to give her a heads up in case you decide to contact her before then. 🙂
Janna’s very straightforward, so if she can’t supply the peonies you’re looking for, I’d imagine she’d be able to recommend someone else in the area!

@tartlet: I will be having an engagement party in september of 2011, in Bloomfield Hills, and am interested in purchasing wholesale flowers, so if you could give me some basic info on Field Farms that’d be great, like hours of operation, appointment needed, etc? Thanks.

I used http://www.Flowers4Vases.com for my wedding in September. This guy Scott was amazing he was very knowledgeable with wedding flowers. I saved hundreds of dollars and the flowers so fresh we had to put the lilies in warm water to get them to burst open. I would highly recommend Flowers4vases you don’t need a tax or a resale certificate to buy from them
