@BurlapnLace:  cookie dough? MMM.

We are doing cupcakes! like you said, they’re fun, less expensive, easier (no cutting). Plus all the different flavors! I’m not sure what flavors we’re doing yet because there are so many options!

We did!  We had 1 round cake to cut and about 200 big ol cupcakes.  Mmm so good.  Chocolate, vanilla, carrot cake, and 3 other flavors that the baker came up with, not even sure what they were.

We’re doing cupcakes too!  I am VERY excited!  They have a tower stand to put them all around too, and they even include a 6″ cake at the top so we can still use a cake topper and save that top cake for our 1st anniversary!

We are doing an 8 tier cake stand for our cake, but we are considering doing a cupcake at each place setting on an individual stand :

Other ideas were filling them with butter mints of other after dinner mints.

BurlapnLace:  Oh my gosh, those sound delicious!!! I absolutely love cupcakes at weddings!

We did cupcakes for ours. We had red velvet, chocolate, and vanilla. I made them ahead of time, and my little sister (who was 12 at the time) decorated them. It poured rain, and the roof ended up leaking, so sadly some of them got a little wet.

We had many other desserts as well (we didn’t have a dinner, just a big dessert bar and a complimentary chip truck), and our guests loved it!

I am, as well. I am doing a small two tier cake mostly for cutting and the rest will be cupcakes. I don’t have to worry about cutting pieces for everyone, a mess, and there will be a bunch of flavors so there will be something for everyone. Plus, my menu is offering an icecream parfait as their dessert, so there won’t be so much cake that will be tossed after a few bites. The price is nice as well.

lolot:  Beautiful cake! I love the flowers.

We’re doing three flavors of cupcakes – white chocolate coconut, vanilla raspberry, and chocolate with vanilla frosting. The round cake for us to cut is marble (vanilla & choc). The chocolate cupcakes will look like this:

We’re doing Georgetown cupcakes from DC! Always knew that I wanted wedding cupcakes; fondant wedding cakes are pretty but don’t taste very good. I’ve seen plenty of wedding cake go uneaten, but never cupcakes!

We are doing cupcakes. They will actually be cheaper than cake and the cupcakes are bigger than cake too.

We are having 2 alcoholic flavors: champagne and harvest ale

And 4 non alcoholic flavors: s’mores, strawberry rhubarb, wedding day and apple pie

I am so excited that there will be more options for people to choose from and it fits in perfectly with our rustic/ fall theme.

We are doing a cupcake tower for our wedding cake!! We have 4 flavors and instead of cutting the cake we will feeding each other a Mini Cupcake. The only cake will be the groom’s cake for those who have to have cake! I went to a wedding 3 months ago and the entire bottom 2 layers of the wedding cake was untouched so I will have take out boxes for guest to take a cupcake home with them!!

I am doing cupcakes!! I am so excited.  One of my good friends is an amazing baker and trying to start a small side business so I decided, why not contribute to your growing business and be one of your clients!!

My theme is James Bond/Oriental Spring so my girl is making some cupcakes in bow ties for my FH and other with pretty flowers for me!  It’s similiar but not exact to these.  She is also making one small regular cake just for the cutting purposes but she’s making mostly cupcakes.
