I’ve been to weddings that have done the cake AND a different dessert.  Maybe you can do that?  You can do a really small cake and the tiramisu, that way no one misses out on the cake.  I say this because tiramisu is a polarizing dessert, usually you either love it or hate (I’m an italian that hates it, go figure.  But I’d be super bummed if there was no cake instead).  We’re doing cake and a dessert table with little cookies and pastries.  And I don’t think we’re going to make a big deal out of the cake.  Like, we’ll do the cake cutting and make sure the photographer captures it, but we won’t make the guests stand around and watch us cut it, we’ll be really low key about it.

We are having a small cake to cut for show, but we opted for an icecream Sunday bar for guests instead!

We did a two-tier cake and several seasonal pies (since pies are my fave).  The guests went crazy over the pies, there wasn’t anything left.  There were a few pieces of cake so we got to take some with us.  You should definitely serve what YOU want to.

We are doing Cold Stone Ice Cream Cake.

My Fiance and I can’t stand cake or cookies and stuff like the that, so we opted for ice cream 🙂

We didn’t have cake – we had a very lovely fruit display thing. Fresh from Jamaica!  Truthfully, I didn’t even look at it, but i saw pictures.. looked nice!

We’re doing a small cake for cutting with a petit four and individual dessert bar so our guests can have a bunch of options.

artbee – croquembouches are lovely!  we love profiteroles and were definitely considering one.

No cake!  We’re having a variety of desserts.  Some of the options are small cakes, but there will be no towering confection at our reception.
