Just doing regular polish here. I’ve actually been testing a few out over the past week and so far I’m in between Essie Ballet Slippers and Essie Adore-a-ball.

ladykatie82:  I definitely will not be be getting acrylic nails for the wedding. I will just make sure my names are trimmed up nicely and very clean – at most, I would put a clear coat of polish or a very light blush color.

ladykatie82:  I’ve never done acrylics, I’ve never been a fan.  I plan on doing a shellac gel manicure.

I did shellac! Must easier on my nails than acrylics!

I’ll be doing gel because that’s what i get on my nails anyway so i’m used to it (see profile pic). no tips though, my nail beds are super long and as if that wasn’t enough my nails grow long super quick naturally. now if i could only pick out a color………

I haven’t had acrylic nails since I was in high school for prom.

I’ll be doing shellac nails for my wedding. We just took our engagements last week and I just did regular polish the day before.

Go with something you’re comfortable with : )

I just did regular polish, I’ve never had gel done and didn’t want to risk not liking it on my wedding day.

It actually chipped the morning of my wedding, even though I had them done like 36 hours before! Just on one finger, and since it was polish I had brought with me for the manicure, I had it on hand and one of my bridesmaids quickly fixed it for me.

*WHEW* You Bee’s are brutal lol!! There are still a very large population of women who get acrylic nails…such as myself *flips hair* haha!! I’m pretty sure you all have some questionable fashion I would side eye, so be nice 🙂 Everyone has their own style…no need to bash. I do love a nice simple gel nail here and there, but acrylic is great when you’re trying to achieve a look that you can’t get with your natural nail. As for the original posters question, I most likely won’t have acrylic since we are having a Destination Wedding wedding and we’ll be doing lots of excursions and I don’t want to have longer nails. Have a great day ladies…xo

Love my almond shaped acrylics 🙂 haha…carry on <3

I haven’t worn acrylic nails in almost 10 years. I went with gel/shellac. It’s the only polish I’ll wear, it’s seriously so durable! A gel manicure typically lasts anywhere from 10-14 days for me.

There IS a type of gel that is mixed with powder and used as an acrylic alternative. It’s completely different from shellac/gel polish, and just as bad for your nails as acrylic is.  Gel polish is put on just like regular polish and cured with an LED or UV lamp.

I used to have acrylics and I miss them. (Had to remove them for work) I’ll probably do shellac or just regular polish. I’m pretty good at doing my nails myself, so it’s just something that’s not a huge priority for me. I’d rather spend the money some where else, but to each their own! 🙂

ladykatie82:  I just got gel polish put on my nails. I’ve actually never had acrylic nails put on – I have really nice nails (if I do say so myself, lol) so I never felt the need.

ladykatie82:  I didn’t want to wear them. Even been using nail strengthener. But I am 11 days out and I decided to work in the garden, with gloves, to destress. Broke 2 off SOOOO Short and a 3rd broke at work. Sadly I amgoing to get some. Hopefully I can find some very thin light ones.

Me. My natural nails are pretty strong and grow well. Acrylic is too damaging.

ladykatie82:  Not doing acrylics because my nails grow like wildfire. Almost to the point that it’s annoying. Plus, the idea of having something stuck on my nails I can’t get off myself freaks me out. So it’s just going to be shellac or a gel manicure.
