We are  both paying, but my favorite aunt paid for the dress, and another aunt is doing the cake.

100% us. I can’t imagine having our parents help. We are in our 30s and this is our second marriage. 🙂

I said us but my parents did help.  They paid for my dress and tacos for everyone a couple nights before the wedding.  His parents gave us a huge cash gift after the wedding that more than covered it, but we gave it right back since he owed them for money he borrowed when he bought his house.  So nice to be that much closer to debt-free, though!

We were 29 and 31 and living on our own with good jobs for quite some time now, so we didn’t expect or ask for anything from anyone.  His best friend is already divorced while her parents are still paying off her wedding.  We, of course, don’t plan to do that, but didn’t want to burden anyone else.

I voted for “100% brides parents” but it is a little misleading since my fiance and I are both brides-to-be. We are paying for our wedding with money that was gifted to us by both of our families. We did not expect this generosity when we announced our engagement, but our parents really wanted to contribute, saying it is family tradition to pay for a daughter’s wedding.

@NoneForGretchenWeiners:  Awesome how that works out!

We had a little joke between us that we’d be totally set, since in the US the bride’s parents pay, and in China the groom’s parents pay (he’s Taiwanese).  🙂

my fi and i thought we were paying for it all, until my mom said she would give us money for the reception and then his parents unexpectedly wrote us a check about 1/2 way through the planning – it was a great surprise and definitely helped!!

Except for the dress, we are paying for everything ourselves.  That includes even the alterations to the dress.

We are paying 100% ourselves, which you would never think by the “input” I’ve been getting.

My parents said they would match what we put in, which was very generous as we weren’t expecting anything. My Father-In-Law would of been happy to contribute if we had asked, but they have already done so much for us that It didnt feel right to ask.

    Can’t vote in your poll,

We’re (Fi & myself) paying for half and my parents are paying for the other half.

We are paying for the majority, with a little help from both sets of parents.

FI’s parents gave $5K (as they have to 2 of his brothers in the past.. and, will again to the the 3rd one when he gets married), and he’s pretty much paying the rest. I bought the invites, DIY stuff, my accessories, and a buch of other little things (that have added up, lol), but he’s footing all the big stuff.

My parent’s are paying for everything. I’m incredibly grateful for this and feel like shit that we can’t contribute to our own wedding.
