I’m sort of monitoring it offhandedly. I’m working today, so I’m keeping a tab open and refreshing it periodically.

I’m Canadian so excuse my ignorance…. Is Romney in the lead?

Can someone explain each platform in 1-2 sentences each?

I’m watching!

I shed a tear and wanted to lead everyone waiting in the line with a rousing round of, “…and I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free…”

It’s exciting – no matter who you vote for. I’m SO thankful I have the right to vote.

ETA: and to nerd it up a notch, I remember the first time I voted, I refused to take off the “I voted today!” sticker they gave me. Wore it to classes and work, lol.

@EastMeetsBarn:  I’m watching… right now they are both at 49% in VA.  And did you see the lines in Florida?  It took me five minutes to vote today.

@EastMeetsBarn:  Wait, you doubt Obama will take VA and OH? Interesting. I know it’s pretty tight but from what I’ve seen/read/heard thus far, he might snag those states.

@OEC:  I think she meant she doesn’t know if Obama will win ALL three of those swing states. At least that is how I read it.

I’m watching…it is stressful!

@anotherbee:  It is too early to tell…they have barely started counting votes. And it all depends on the states each candidate wins.

Are you asking what each candidate stands for?

@anotherbee:  It’s really quite early to tell. The site I’m monitoring has him at a very very slight lead but returns are only just starting to come in as the polls close.

As far as the platform… summing them up in 1-2 sentences would be hard. :/

This site has a comparison.

@Ms.Pink:  Ahh, that makes sense when you read it that way. Yeah, sweeping all 3 is iffy – ‘specially with FL in there.

@Ms.Pink:  Yes. I don’t follow the campaigns, so I don’t know what the  party issues are

@OEC:  I don’t know! Florida is SO close so far. Except the panhandle JUST closed at 8:00, and it is typically dead red…but who knows. I can’t stop watching, and I should totally be studying!

@Ms.Pink:  Yeah, that’s what has me thinking Romney might get it. It’s gonna be close all the way around. I don’t know why both camps were saying they were confident they’d get over 300 electoral votes. I don’t think it’s gonna be that big of a margin, but I do understand hype and puffery.
