I’ve always been in pretty good shape but ever since I accidentally discovered that an engagement ring is en route to our house I’ve been exercising every day and watching what I eat. If a proposal is right around the corner, that means an engagement party is too, with engagement pics. And I don’t want to look back on them down the track and wish I’d made more of an effort to look and feel better. Anyone else doing the same?

@katlovesjames: I’ve been dieting longer than I’ve known SO lol but I really got my butt in gear when I realized that the wedding dress fittings will be here before I know it!

I’m probably 90% sure SO is going to propose in May or June. I’m not ridiculously overweight, but I definitely want to lose 40-50lb, and I figured what better motivation!

Me! I think a proposal is coming in the next couple months and the wedding is in a year and I want to rock the dress! Just toning and maybe losing 5 lbs for me. Has anyone tried (and stuck with!) p90x?

I have no idea when it is coming but I’ve been making more an effort to eat clean and watch my weight. I’ve recently completed the 30 day shred from Jillian Michaels – so awesome! I toned up hardcore – I was always in shape, just not toned. Now I can look good in a bikini for Mexico here in a few weeks. Doubt it’ll happen then but it doesn’t hurt!

I have been trying to lose some weight that has crept up over the last year… About ten pounds.
I have found the iPad app, I think it is also a website, called myfitnesspal really good. Has every food imaginable with its calorie value, you enter everything you eat and it tracks your calories, minus what you burn working out. Since getting it I have been faithfully fessing up to my cocktails. 😉 and its free! I have already learned a lot about caloric value, it is eye opening.

I know it’s coming and I really should be making a better effort with my diet, just because I know I’m going to look at pictures and be like, “GROSS!” (I always do)

Me me me!! My SO just recently gave me a timeline of about a year til when he proposes so I have plenty of time to start my diet. I want to lose about 30-40 lbs and I just started weight watchers back up. I also recently got zumba on DVD and it is fantastic and a more enjoyable exercise than P90x which I tried and failed since I wasn’t motivated.

I’ve been watching what I eat and keep tabs on my overall health for a while now, but I will admit that knowing there’s a proposal coming next month has me being a little more cautious with any sweets! I’ve been swimming a lot and going to physical therapy, so I feel pretty good right now. 🙂

- Wedding: June 2013 - Country Club
I started a diet a week before Fiance proposed without even knowing it haha

YES! I also jokingly told SO that he shouldn’t propose until i’ve lost X amount of weight…haha we laughed, but wouldn’t THAT be some great motivation!?
I’m trying to find a new job so I’m only working part time but that means I don’t have money to spend on a gym. I decided to do what I can with kinect dancing games! I’ve read a few blogs about people losing a good amount of weight doing that. Also I’m trying to eat cleaner as well.
I’m 5’9″ and 178 lbs. I don’t look too over weight, but considering I used to be a dancer who weighed 145 about 3 years ago, I have begun to really feel badly about myself. So I want to change that, what better time than now…before a wedding!

Glad to see I’m not the only one then. I probably have about 10lbs to lose as I’m 5’2 and currently weigh 120lbs. It’s more about toning for me rather than weight loss so I’m doing strengthening exercises and taking daily power walks. Hopefully I’ll be at my goal weight/size soon. Good luck to all the other weight watching bees.
