@Kareng1022:  I think even thinner girls need spanx on such important occasions. It will definitely give you that smoother look 🙂

Little secret: many brides (like myself) wear Spanx for another surprising reason — wedding dresses can get mighty sweaty and the Spanx helps to keep the sweat to a minimum.

I’m wearing Spanx. I don’t think it takes inches off of me, but it smoothes everything out nicely. The pair that I got for teh wedding are comfier than pairs I’ve owned before (they are the ones that come up to your bra and then down to your knees or so). My seamstress politely suggested Spanx b/c my dress is fit and flare, and it just helps make it look a little bit nicer. Plus, it helps fight chub rub for me!

Personally if you don’t need them I wouldn’t worry. It’s just another thing to worry about when needing the bathroom!!!

I won’t be as I have a ball down dress so no need

I’m wearing spanx! I’m on the petite side, like you, and also wearing a very form fitting mermaid gown. The way I see it, it can’t hurt to have a little help smoothing things out.

I wore them about half the night.  Once I had to go pee and my Maid/Matron of Honor had to take my dress off, I took them off for good.  I was actually much more comfortable with them off.  Of course, at that point, I wasn’t worried about a belly pooch or anything.  I just wanted to pee with ease.  😉

I wore Spanx. It definitely helped smooth everything out AND kept me a little cooler all night!

I plan on wearing them. I think it’s a psychological thing. I think it will smooth everything out but I also feel that I will make me FEEL like I will look better.

I’m wearing them also – I just think whether i need it or not, it will make me FEEL better to know everything is locked, loaded, and smooth.  My dress is a fit and flare also – trumpet/mermaid hybrid and I don’t see the problem with going to the bathroom – well I mean, my spanx have like a potty hole at the bottom – lol – I’m not sure exactly what the correct term for it is…… but yeah, I’ll be wearing them for sure!  🙂

Mine just came in the mail two-days-ago! I ordered it early to get measured in it and so I’d have it for our engagment/STD photoshoot. My dress isn’t form fitting, but I’d like to make sure my tummy is under control. But, once I get the dress, if I find I won’t need it, then I won’t wear it.

@lisha_1988:  They conveniently put in a panel that separates so you can go to the bathroom without removing the Spanx.

TO the OP: If you will feel more confident in Spanx, wear them. Just be warned that if you are truly petite and thin, you might not find Spanx by Spanx brand small enough to actually do anything for you.
