I’m not because I just think it would be annoying. I don’t want to feel the urge to itch my face at the altar.

I wanted a blusher, but Fiance doesn’t want me to have one, so I’m going without.  I’m pretty sure I would start bawling if my dad lifts my veil.  Pro: No ruined makeup!

I’m not.  I’m super traditional, but I just didn’t like the blusher/chapel length veil combo.  It just seemed outdated to me.  I’m just wearing a chapel length veil – nothing over my face.

My Future Sister-In-Law & I had this discussion – we’re both wearing the blusher. It will mean a lot to both of our dads who have raised a couple of tomboys. 🙂  However, I really want to wear my hair pulled back, instead of in an updo.  I’m now thinking that idea would cause issues with wearing the veil… Any suggestions?

Yes, I am wearing a blusher!  I think they’re beautiful.  My veil is not super traditional, though – it’s short and poufy.  I’ll walk down the aisle with it covering my face. I want to do the whole “Dad flips it back and kisses me on the cheek” thing.

I don’t want anything over my face, but if I do it will be the Russian Net Facial Blusher Veil.  I did try it on and it was puffy, so I don’t know.

I don’t like the idea of it or what it stands for.  I also don’t like the idea of the father “giving away” the bride.  I guess I’m sort of non-traditional 🙂

I like the look of veils with certain dresses though… just not over the face.

I’m doing it. Its such a “bridey” thing to do and I’m only going to be a bride once so I want the whole shebang. Plus my mom is desparate for me to do, she cries every time I try it on with it over my face

I wore a beautiful heirloom veil from my husbands family – but it wasn’t over my face, there wasn’t even an option of that even though I think it was at least 100 years old.

I’ve been to a lot of weddings in the past few years and haven’t seen any with a veil over the brides face.  I’m surprised to see so many people plan on doing it.  Not that it’s a bad thing, I just haven’t seen anyone do it.

I think its sexy and it helps the nerves when walking down the aisle! There are so many different meanings to it but I like the way it looks

I don’t think it’s outdated, but when I didn’t like the way it felt over my face.  I kept trying to blow it away off my face.  It felt like I had hair on my face and tickled… not the kind of distraction I wanted going down the aisle.

Does birdcage veil count? That’s what I’ll be wearing.

For me, I’m not a big fan of wearing my veil over my face. I think it looks amazing on other people, but it just wasn’t what I wanted to do :]

I think the first two options in this poll are the same thing – at least it was for me (I am doing it, and I think it looks pretty! I voted for the second one though…)

I am not wearing the veil itself over my face though – I have a fingertip veil that goes behind. I then had my seamstress add an extra layer of tulle that will go over my face (its called a blusher.) She attached it with a thin strip of velcro so that if I decided I didn’t like how it looked, I could remove it all together. Now that I have it, I really like the look – I find it really romantic. I think my father will be lifting it after he walks me down the aisle.
