    I have no problem referring to Fiance as Daddy to the kids… such as “Oh, look, Daddy’s home!” but in the bedroom? to each other? Not so much.

    No.  I tried that once and Fiance gave me the BIGGEST SIDE EYE like “never again” and I could not stop laughing.   It just sounds so gross to me.  Plus there are all sorts of gender connotatons that I wont get into here.  But yeah…..doesn’t work for us.

    Not exactly…I sometimes call him Daddy when I’m talking about him to our cats (yes, I’m one of those crazy cat people who talks to their cats), but in the way I’ll refer to him as Daddy to our future kids, but in a “Be good for Daddy” way, not in a “You’re MY Daddy” sort of way. That’s just a little too weird.

    I couldn’t call him Daddy, but I do call him Papa, but never in the bedroom.

    I only refer to him as “Daddy” when I’m talking to our dog, using it in the bedroom is just way too pervy for me.

    @red_pepper_gal:

    + 1 except I am calling him daddy when referring to our fur children since we have not yet been blessed with a child.

    In the bedroom?  Not a chance, but Lieutenant, Sergeant, or Captain can be fun!

    ugh. ugh. ugh. soooo creepy.  it’s ok if it’s when talking to kids or pets, because yeah he is their daddy?  but who’s your daddy??? um, my Dad is and please do not get me thinking about that when we’re trying to engage in totally unrelated activities.

    I voted no, but I should have voted other… I have jokingly (outside of the bedroom) called him “daddy” but I said it with a really ghetto accent and it was because he found it funny…

    However, on a serious note, it should never be said unless he is your child’s father (or step father/father figure) and you are talking about him to your child.  Otherwise it’s just gross.

    ick.

    Definitely not. I have a friend on Facebook who does that too and it kind of gives me the shivers every time!

    @Mrs Sarah McK: haha don’t worry about it, I call Fiance “daddy” to my dog… and I talk to him all the time… what makes it weird?  my dog is deaf… yup, and I still talk to him. What? 🙂

    Calling him “daddy” is in no way sexy. I mena its fine to refer to him as that if you have kids like someone said above, but that whole “Who’s your daddy?” slap on the ass thing is just gross and it would actually irritate me.
