MemberI just found out that my Fiance asked my dad before he proposed! How many of you can relate? Oh, by the way, its a good thing, i am just happy he said yes!
Membermine did. He called may parents a week before(they live far away) and asked them.
MemberMy husband did and my parents helped with the proposal by letting him use their marriot points for a hotel room in Charleston for the weekend. I knew something was up when we checked in under my dads name haha.
MemberMy Fiance took my dad out to dinner and asked him for my hand in marriage. I knew Fiance was up to no good, because he is a bad lier; I actually thought he was buying the ring, lol 🙂
MemberYes he has. Just waiting for him to ask me now!! (He asked my Dad in July 2011).

MemberMine did, it was important to me. Although I found out later he kind of told them rather than asked them, “Hey i’m proposing tonight, I want you to be there” sort of thing 🙂 Either way, I wanted my parents to know/be there. (I didn’t need their permission persay, I already knew they approved of us being together)
MemberDad is dead but he asked my mom which I thought was pretty sweet.
MemberMy fiance flew to my parents town and took my dad to dinner to ask. He knew it was important to me (I told him he had to do it!) but he wanted to and never would have not done it. He’s a gentleman! 🙂
MemberMine did! (And I was in my mid-40s when we met and he proposed!) I still LOVED that he did this! 🙂

MemberDH didn’t ask but he did inform my parents that he was proposing. They knew it was coming eventually so it wasn’t a shocker.
MemberMy dad had passed away before we got engaged, and my mother had already given her blessing since she’d given him a family stone to use for my ering about a year prior. I think he informed all the (living) parents that he planned to propose the morning of though.
MemberMy husband did the night before he proposed on their way to the casino. My dad helped him with the proposal and had the camera ready to get a picture of the moment 🙂
MemberI’m not close with my dad so my Fiance called my mom. He actually called her on her birthday which was a week before he proposed. He said he waited as long as he could cause he knew she probably couldn’t keep it a secret.
BUT SHE DID!!! For a whole week! Afterwards I realized how short she was with me on the phone all week!
MemberMine did! My dad was surprised and said “of course!” I think it was thoughtful of my husband to do that! I think it shows a lot of character!
