    @Cynderbug:  in the united states the brides name comes first.  i am not sure for other countries.

    Bride’s name first IMO, especially if her family is paying.

    Before wedding- Brides name first

    After wedding- husbands name first

    @IzzyBear:  this is true.  i was just going to mention this.  only if the groom’s parents are “solely” hosting the wedding.  if it’s both sets of parents hosting, the brides name comes first.

    Traditionally and according to Emily Post, a woman’s name always comes before a man.  Even when you get married, it should be Kelly and John Smith.  You never separate a man’s name from his last name, because his name has always been John Smith, but Kelly only reecently took it.

    Also if you are following etiquette, you would only request the honor of your presence if you were getting married in a house of worship.  Otherwise it should say “request the pleasure of your company”.

    Fiance did the same thing, I showed him the proof for the STD and he says “looks fine….wait a minute why is your name first??”  I just laughed at him.
