When I snack instead of eat meals, I am way hungrier. I would have eaten a piece of fruit plus the chobani yogurt and the kind bar (or something else around 200 calories) all together at 7:30am and then probably would have been fine until lunch. Sometimes I’ll have a banana or a string cheese around 10:30am if I’m hungry, but often I don’t need it if I have a decent breakfast (500-600 calories).

That isn’t that much food.  For me, I have to have a high protein thing in the morning.  Those are tiny snacks!

@carbear02:  Probably because none of those things are actually satisfying.

I am a meals kinda girl. I have to have meals to not be starving, and the meal has to be tasty or I will crave something I actually want to eat later on.

I am not one of those people that can have a 500 calorie smoothie and call it ‘lunch’. I need real food lol. I try to cut down on drinking my calories. I love smoothies but am well aware that I can’t just have it as a drink/snack very often because it’s equivalent calorie-wise to a meal.

Eat more. Those snacks/meals are hardly anything substancial. Protein will keep you fuller for longer.

Hmmm IDK…here is what I do:

5 AM – 1 egg

9 AM – low cal cheese or an egg, a banana

12 PM – turkey/low cal provolone sandwich on 2 slices of 45 calorie bread, plus two cuties, sometimes I’ll have a healthy cookie

5 PM – dinner, usually 500 calories or so

Last night, I had dinner at 4 PM, and I was hungry again by, like, 7 PM.  So I got food and went over my calories.  🙁

@carbear02:  Try having something a bit more substantial like porridge with fresh fruit on top. It will help fill you up all the way until lunch.

If you are excersing also make sure you drink lots more than you usually would otherwise you will end up dehydrated which in turn may be making you feel hugrier.

You need to eat more. None of that is an actual meal.

Add oatmeal to your AM, and a teaspoon of PB to your apples.

I’d say try to get more protein in.  It will keep you full longer.

I eat the same way. Grazing usually keeps me satisfied; im not a huge meals type of girl.

Try to drink a lot of water. If you are on a diet or trying to eating less than normal, your stomach could also be stretched out. Your stomach shrinks in time.

I don’t know what a Kind bar is since I don’t eat that kind of stuff, but it sounds like you need more protein. Try two eggs, half a grapefruit, and wholewheat toast in the morning and see if that keeps you satiated longer.

You need more (substantial) food!!  I’ve found that what I eat in the morning really sets the tone for the day.  If I have a crappy breakfast, I am starving and grazing all.day.long.  If I have a decent breakfast, I can usually get by with a 100 calorie mid-morning snack and then not be hungry until lunch (1pm) and then be fine until dinner.

@MsAmandaAnn:  +1.  what i eat for breakfast entirely affects how i eat for the rest of the day.  if it doesn’t have some protein and healthy fats, i end up overeating later in the day.  it’s better to have a more substantial breakfast and eat a lighter lunch and dinner.

think of it this way: it takes more gas to get your car going than it does to maintain the speed, and i’ve definitely found that my body runs the same way

@carbear02:  Personally I would have eaten more carbs…no kind bar but rather oatmeal with fresh fruit or half a wheat bagel. An egg is good too!
