First, I just want to say that we are NOT using flowers at all for decor. We are just using the candelabras that you see in the pictures.
Here is what my venue looks like with no decorations added.
Here is a close up of what ours would look like with our dark purple napkins/purple uplighting (not sure how I feel about the uplighting yet).
However, most people use chair covers. If we did chair covers here’s what it would look like. But we’d use the same dark purple napkins as above and use chair sashes.
Originally I didn’t even consider no chair covers as an option and now I have no idea what to do.
I was thinking that the chairs changed the feel of the wedding from the formal ballroom wedding that we want.
Please help. I’m SO bad at this and so if the Fiance. I’ve decided that we are decorating retarded, lol. I’ve added the poll, but PLEASE explain why you’re voting the way you are. I want to hear what everyone thinks.

@subola: On here you’ll find that chair covers are generally left by the wayside. And from the pictures, it looks like you’ll have something similar to Chivari chairs.. those are too gorgeous to cover up!

Generally speaking, I’m usually one of the ones voting to rent new chairs or get chair covers as I do care about these details, however, I think your current chairs are great. They look like Chivari chairs which are very suitable for a formal event.
I would consider sitting in the normal Chivari chairs and not those huge black and brown armchairs. The armchairs look somewhat clunky and out-of-place next to the delicate, elegant Chivaris.
If budget is an option, I would stick with these chairs. However, if budget is not a concern, then the chair covers are nice but not necessary.

Voting here, like I did in your other post, for chiavari chairs! I also think you should do the purple uplighting with the dark purple napkins. It adds a nice ambiance.
ETA: I would ixnay the black armchairs. I guess they are there as the bride and groom chairs but they are kinda ugly…

Your venue is gorgeous.
I do agree that your chairs are lovely, and I wouldn’t cover those up.
I still think you can achieve the ballroom feel without chair covers.

I think chair covers are out of style, and I’m not a fan of uplighting. LOVE the venue!

I’m all for chair covers if the chairs are ugly. I love these though! I think it looks more elegant without the covers!

Those chairs are gorgeous, don’t cover them up!

I think it looks way worse with the chair covers, especially when the chairs underneath are beautiful! I don’t know why but all those white chair covers remind me of ghosts! Haha!
I like the dark purple napkins, not sure about the uplighting. But I’m just not a big fan of uplighting in general.

I’m not a fan of chair covers and always advocate chiavari chairs. And lucky for you your venue already comes with them! I would never cover those up.
And I vote yes for uplighting. It totally sets the mood.

If you can afford it go with the chiavari chairs!! When we booked the only option was ugly chairs for free, ugly chairs with chair covers for a small fee or chiavari chairs for a ridiculous expensive fee that we couldn’t afford!

@subola: Those chairs are beautiful! I think that with the dark purple napkins, the gold chairs (at least they look gold to me!) give a very regal, elegant air to everything.

I prefer no covers. Generally I don’t like the sea of white effect with covers, and your chairs are actually really nice and elegant looking.

I prefer no chair covers whenever possible. Chair covers are usually reserved to cover up ugly chairs. Those are gorgeous, dont cover them up!
Oh and I would do uplighting, it usually really adds a lot to the vibe

I LOVE your venue. It is absolutely gorgeous in the first picture. Just do whatever they did!
I’m not as big a fan of the uplighting. I think of uplighting as best used when the room is a blank canvas and needs something to liven it up (like an empty loft, or a standard banquet room). Your venue is so pretty and has a ton of AMAZING architectural features — the windows and ceiling are amazing on their own. The uplighting takes away from them.
Don’t cover the chairs. I think chair covers are a last resort, when the chairs they are covering aren’t fit to be seen (such a waste of money). Your chairs are really pretty.
