i usually have very regular cycles with AF lasting no more than 6-7 days. This august was our 4th cycle TTC. I had an early MC on the 3rd cycle in Jully, at five weeks (which ended in a normal 7 day period). this was followed by normal ovulation and following that AF came as usual on CD30. So now Im really freaking out because this AF is still not over. Ive been light spotting for 3-4 days longer thn normal following my period and its really weird for me to have that. Im basically on cd10 still spotting… I tested just before AF was due and got a BFN, tested next day (CD 14 or so) and had a very very faint pink line but then a BFN again the next day. so I didnt think much of it. Ive never been on BCP nor had any medical gyno issues, any advice what could be causing this prolonged spotting? We are supposed to be BDing this whole long weekend while on mini vacay waiting for O, but now im too sad over this stupid long AF to be excited over our romantic getaway :

@MrsOats: I’m not sure why, but I spot for several days before and after AF – which is new for me, and has gotten worse. Maybe it’s your body changing =/ One thing I’ve learned while TTC is your body changes it’s mind a lot =/ hugs!

I also have spotting for a few days on either side of AF. It’s been that way since I stopped taking BC pills in April. I don’t know why it’s happening to you – our bodies do some weird things sometimes.

I know! Our bodies decide to act out especially now when we need them to cooperate! So I have decided that this must be TTC related or something because why after 20 years of having regular periods (I’m 31 now) it would suddenly become a super long period? I had a somewhat long period on cycle 2 of TTC too, it was almost 9 days (light spotting for last 4 days of it). I am thinking that its probably chemical pregnancies or something like that and the change in hormones causing it. I am hoping its not something more serious like fibroids or endometriosis or worse… damn it, why now??!!. I also had a cold for the last week maybe that is something too, but I’ve had colds before and it didnt have an effect… Anyways, thanks for your support bees, and if anyone had a similar situation maybe they can chime in.

I regularly spot before and after my period (at least since stopping BCP. I don’t remember how it was before). I don’t count those days as part of my actual period, though I do mark them in FertilityFriend. I only count days I actually bleed. It’s so frustrating how confusing our bodies can be. I regularly have 28-29 day cycles, but then I randomly had two super long cycles in a row.
