Because weddings and babies go hand in hand (much of the time). There are a lot of bees who are still newlyweds but TTC or expecting.

The question that needs to be asked is why hasn’t a cheating/infidelity section been added? Since there’s clearly a need for one.

It’s like the song: first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage (ok, sometimes not in that order).  🙂

It didn’t always used to be this way – but was a natural progression for what was desired in the hive.  You can always restrict your view by clicking on the ‘Wedding Related” tab, up top.

I always wondered the same thing, but I thought it was just me, esp. when there are websites designated for moms and moms to be. Maybe ppl. do that b/c everyone on this site is nice and gives good advice.

Well there is a babies *board*, did you not notice that? As well as other Not Wedding Related boards…the posts aren’t popping up in inappropriate sections, is what I’m getting at. I think it seems pretty obvious why WB would provide Not Wedding Related boards for people whose wedding days have come and gone… this site is a business and they want to keep members here as long as possible.

I think it has to do also with the fact that people spend a lot of time here, make realy friendships and relationships, and continue those through other phases of life. I mean, there is a “books” section too, and that’s even less related!

I think people come on here for weddings (speaking for myself at least) and fall in love with the website and just don’t want to leave. But so many of us are on here who are now married, buying homes, pregnant, etc. so they created a section for us.

@sweetkate: Bahaha!! I don’t think I’ll leave after my wedding either. Although it’s in 2 years, so maybe I’ll be sick of the bee by then.

@Gingersnap:You think you will but you won’t!  I slowed down after the honeymoon for a few days but am now on probably more than ever looking at the boards I had previously ignored.

Been around since 2009 and I just feel home here. Yea, so there are other sites but you develop a comfort level here. Even when I stop TTC I probably still wont leave bc I love the girls on one of the threads I am on. If no one wants to see the baby posts, feel free to go to the different sections at the top that have everything filtered: Not Wedding Related, Wedding Related, Nesting, Local and you can avoid them that way. When you become done with planning, leaving is easier said than done. 🙂

Personally, I left WB after my wedding. I found out I was pregnant and came back under a new, less obvious, name for the amazing support and circle I had come to know during my planning. It’s like going to school- we graduate from the different levels yet stay with the same “group” of people throughout our journey. I don’t view it as any different. We’re all graduating the stages of life together!
