in his defense, it is a really busy and hectic time. i would wait until after the new year, then send a reminder. if he doesn’t get back to you by jan. 7 or so, go somewhere else.

Be aggressive with him. Send him one last e-mail saying:

“I’d like to have my rehearsal dinner at your location, on X date for X amount of people at X price. However my time line is short and I need to a confirmation by end of day tomorrow, or else I will need to take my business elsewhere. I’d like to work with you and your restaurant, but I don’t have much time. Thank you.”

Well this time of year they are probably so super busy with all of the holiday parties they are throwing.  I would wait until Jan 3rd send him one more email and give him the 72hr policy then.

@JrzyGurl: I like this response. There is zero excuse for not making contact, so I think you need to be firmer with him. He’s not doing you a favor; you’d be paying, and therefore you deserve to receive a response in a timely manner.
