We wanted to get married because my SO wants to snowboard to the ceremony. And since it will be ski season, it is actually just as expensive as during “normal” wedding season. I like the idea the best because I don’t have to worry about people getting too hot, but I do have to worry about the weather!

It is one of the driest months of th year and a lot of my family live in the north so it will b a perfect time of year for them to gt away from the cold.

@caseylynn19: I totally agree with your post. I love fall in Florida b/c summer can be very hot and humid. Also, did not want to wait for fall 2012. Plus, venue did not have other spring dates available so March 31, 2012 worked out.

Well we are getting married in Maui and Maui (I’ve heard) is gorgeous in March.  Also my FH is a firefighter and wanted to get married before fire season, and has a class for a promotion in the months of April and May (since our fire season starts in June…usually. It’s been a slow few years!)

As long as you are in a temperate enough climate, March is a great time to get married.  You may be able to get better deals with vendors since a lot of us consider it still to be off season. Also  not everyone is a fan of the heat, which not everyone thinks about when planning a summer wedding.

We did March because I wanted a spring wedding.  The 24th is the last saturday of my spring break so I’ll be off the entire week before to be able to get last minute stuff done and then I’m taking off a week of work after.  We also figured alot of vendors we would want would be free because it isn’t technically wedding season and hopefully find some discounts.  Also the weather should be great for our outdoor wedding. Average temp that time of year is 72 degrees, should be nice (knock on wood).

We chose 3/3 because it’s easy to remember. Had to pick something!

We chose March because the weather should be great. We figured that most people dont really have money after Christmas season so they wouldnt have money for an outfit or accommodation near the venue (it’s not a destination wedding, but it’s in the Winelands about 45min minimum from where everyone lives so no driving home drunk). Also Dec to mid Feb are very windy months in Cape Town and there is still a slight chance of rain during those months – we basically wanted a month where we knew the weather would be near perfect. I know we cant control these things, but i have my fingers crossed.

We chose 3/3/12 instead of another weekend in March because I liked how the date sounded.

We wanted an off season wedding, for cost reasons.  He is 100% Irish and I am about 2/3 Irish so the date of 03.17.12 was perfect.  I didn’t know it was a Saturday until my Maid/Matron of Honor pointed it out and then we just went from there
