Being from Vermont, the foliage is beautiful in October! The temperature in the beginning of the month is nice and cool, but not too cold!

It got the footy season here in Australia out of the way and after Bathurst (two important dates on my Fi’s calendar). It gave me enough planning time and I knew I’d have my Long Service by then as in June I’ll have been teaching for 7 years. October is a nice season in Australia too, love a Spring wedding. We met in October too.

Originally I chose 5th October as it sits between both of our parents anniversaries, but as I couldn’t get that date I chose the 19th 🙂 Also won’t be dissappointed if the weather is rubbish as you’d expect it to be not great at that time of year in the UK, although the last few years we have had gorgeous weather in October…

@Kimmy83:  Ditto!

I’m from Vermont and the wedding is in New Husband – we chose October for the foliage!

We decided to go with October because we started dating in October.  Our wedding date is one day before our 5 year anniversary.  His grandparents got married Columbus day weekend and we will be getting married on Columbus day weekend as well (diff dates, lol but Columbs day still).  We thought the weather would be nice — not too hot and not too cold.  We’ll be in Hawaii for our 5 year anniversary =) celebrating our new life together.  Plus we both love the fall =D

We picked October because we wanted a beach wedding in Florida and knew the weather is much nicer in October there.  Also, because it is the “offseason” for tourists we knew our guests and us would be able to find cheaper hotels.  We are staying in a condo on the beach that have costed at least twice as much if we had gone in the summertime.  Also…being the less busy time of year, the beaches won’t be as crowded so there won’t be as many onlookers on the beach for our wedding.

From what I’m learning by speaking to various vendors….October is actually one of the most popular wedding months where I’m getting married at.

I’ve already purchased wedding insurance just in case a hurricane decides to make a visit.

We both love the fall and Halloween! So our theme is Fall/Halloween. The ceremony is more fall themed and the reception will be more Halloween themed.

Well, I’d originally wanted December but we decided to do an outdoor wedding and thought it would be too cold. So then I thought November, but again, too cold. October in Vegas seems like the ideal time for an outdoor ceremony.

We picked October because we could get married on 10/11/12.  It worked out perfectly because we could get 2 weeks off in a row, there is a holiday, and it was enough time to save up money.  Plus it won’t be too hot in FL.

We picked October because we both love the fall.  Just like other PPs, it’s not too hot and not too cold yet, so it was the perfect week.  Our dating month is June and we knew we did not want to pay the June wedding prices and having it in October gave us a little over a year to save up enough money to pay for the wedding.  Plus, I kind of based the actual DATE on a former bridesmaid’s grad school exam schedule (which ended up changing and she had to bow out due to needing to study, boo!).  We’re really happy with our month selection! It’s a good distance away from both of our birthdays and Christmas, so no issues there!
