    Anniversary

Same day and month of our first date

Same day and month of our first kiss

    Birthday

    Weather/season preference

    No school

    Most convenient

    We had no other choice

We didn't really mind the date, as long as it's on the same month we wanted

I picked the date based on the season. I love the fall and always wanted to have a fall wedding so my date is the last sunday in September. I CAN’T WAIT!!!

We wanted a Friday wedding and in the fall. The beginning of October is typically nice weather. 🙂

We based ours on weather in upstate NY, and how early we could have the wedding based on how much we could save every month.

    • Wedding: August 2014

We originally chose July 19th just because and I like odd numbers so the 7.19 worked out. Then, my mom informed me her class reunion that she’s really been looking forward to was that day, so we changed it to August 23rd. We realized that is my fiance’s aunt/uncle’s anniversary plus we realized it our friends’ anniversary too! We then changed it to August 15th and I am not changing it again. No. Matter. What. lol. Our Save the Dates already went out, so we can’t! …or at least that’s what I am saying.

    • Wedding: March 2015

We decided to be flexible with our date and find the venue that we loved and work from there… We had wanted to go for a May/June wedding, but it wasn’t to be, as our venue has time constraints and we can’t start the ceremony until 6pm, which would be pitch black in May.

So, we chose 7th March 2015! The sun won’t set until after 6:45pm, giving us plenty of time for the ceremony and a few photos in the last rays of light.

Also, it’s kinda sweet, but we met on the 8th April and will be getting married on the 7th March. Nerdy, but I like it.

We decided that we want to keep it on our dating anniversary but that wont fall on a Saturday so we picked the Saturday before it.

@bridetobee16:  I checked a lot of the above. I’m in CA, too and wanted a summer wedding. I always knew I would have a summer wedding and July is my favorite month because it’s my birthday month hehe. I didn’t want to have a June wedding because it’s a super busy month for weddings and I already have 2-3 to attend (yikes!) and because of the chance of gloom. We wanted July 12th, originally but the salesperson helping us at our venue showed us the price drop between Saturday and Sunday and we went with Sunday to cut some costs and I also liked the idea of a church wedding on a Sunday and always have. The weekend before is 4th of July weekend so we nixed that date and the following weekend is my birthday and I wasn’t going to have my wedding on my birthday so the 13th it was!

My Fiance wanted a summer wedding and I loved the symmetry of 7/7/14. It’s also my uncle’s 7th anniversary and has romantic connotations in Japan, where I lived for a few years. (Tanabata)

We got lucky b/c even though we would have called it our anniversary, the cruise we are doing for our Destination Wedding happens to leave monday-monday, whch is a bit odd. It means we will actually end up signing the papers on 7-7-14 though.

    It’s getting so close!

@bridetobee16:  it was my grandparents’ anniversary. they were married for 66 years when my grandpa passed away, and i miss them so much. so we wanted to honor them that way, and it was in the fall, which we loved.

@bridetobee16:  We didn’t overthink our date or attach significance to it (it comes with significance automatically!). I knew I didn’t want my make-up running off my face in a hot month, and we also didn’t want winter because of how many guest are flying in from Europe (wanted weather to cooperate for flights AND sightseeing while people are here). Picking a spring date made everything too rushed, so October was a good fit.

    • Wedding: May 2014

We’re May 3.  It needed to be after tax / audit busy season in accounting (FI is a CPA) – so after April 15.  And we didn’t want summertime (too hot!).  Football season (all of fall) is a no-go as Fiance HATES having to go to weddings during football season – so said we weren’t having one then.  And next winter was just too far away!  So late April and all of May were our target dates.  But then we didn’t want Easter weekend (April 20) or Memorial Day.  So we were left with a handful of dates…we picked May 3 because that’s when our church and preferred venue were both available!

Things I realized after picking the date that I like: 5-3-2014 includes the numbers 0-5.  I also like that 5-3-14 is 4 numbers, so is an easy to remember set of numbers that we could use for an alarm PIN code or something (5314).

    • Wedding: May 2014

@bridetobee16:  We knew that we wanted to get married in either the spring or the fall…the problem is both seasons are full of bdays on both sides of our families. When we found out venue (botanical garden setting) we decided we would do spring…the first two weeks of may are the best for newly bloomed flowers so we decided to go with the first weekend in May (my bday is the end of May), which isn’t quite considered wedding season yet…and we were able to save for our honeymoon (Tahiti) because we miss busy season by just a few weeks!  So it all worked out 🙂

@bridetobee16:  Ours is my parents anniversary (May 3). But it’s also two days after his parents anniversary (May 1), my parents just happened to fall on the Saturday this year. It’s also one day shy of the day and month he proposed (May 4).

We got married the day before my brithday which falls on a holiday weekend. I chose that because I have a workaholic husband and knew this would be the only way to get a legit vacation every year.

We didnt really care about the specific date, just the season. Fiance wanted it early enough so we could go on a hot honeymoon, and I wanted it late enough so I wasnt scrambling to plan. We picked a venue and just booked the last date the had available in April that wasnt a long weekend.
