(Closed) Why did you choose that wedding date?

    Anniversary

Same day and month of our first date

Same day and month of our first kiss

    Birthday

    Weather/season preference

    No school

    Most convenient

    We had no other choice

We didn't really mind the date, as long as it's on the same month we wanted

Ha. I made this post a month ago. We chose our date at random.

It was the soonest we could throw things together and still be considerate to our out-of-town guests 😉

We chose it purely out of convenience. I wanted to be done with school, and we wanted me to get my visa as soon as I could. I graduated in December, so we aimed for January. We stayed away from January 4th because it was too close to New Year’s, so we went with the next weekend, the 11th.

    • Wedding: August 2012

We got engaged in April and knew that we wanted to get married in the same year (neither of us are fans of long engagements) and I refused to get married in the snow (which for MI meant October or earlier).  DH’s job would have been really difficult to plan anything during the school year.  So, when we sat down with our families and started looking, the only date available for almost everyone was August 11, 2012.  We planned the wedding in 3 months.

    @bridetobee16:

I wanted October 13th (the day we met, and 13 is our ‘lucky’ number), but we chose Oct 27th, because our dating anniversary is October 26th, and the saturday preference because most people had to travel…

but… I just did what you did, and added my wedding date together out of sheer curiousity, and…

1+0+2+7+1+2 = 13… Amazing!! I added it like five times to make sure lol

@bridetobee16:  totally feel you on adding the numbers!

Ours is the closest Saturday to our current anniversary (4/2) that doesn’t conflict with Easter. I would have liked 4/4/15, but it’s the day before Easter. But 4/11/15 works out nicely….4+11=15, and it’s 9 days after our 9th anniversary!

Our wedding date is April 9th(Wednesday) everyones like Wednesday?!?!

We started dating April 9th, he proposed April 9th so we figured it was completely appropriate to get married April 9th:)

04-12-14 just sounded like a cool date, It’s a Saturday, the venue didn’t have it booked, and April is our 2nd least rainy month (surprisingly)!

We had to book around home football games because my church is close to the stadium. I’m not even sure DH woudl have shown up if there was a home football game.

We wanted an October wedding and knew we wanted 2013 (he proposed in August 2012 and we wanted about a year engagement) and liked the sound of October 5th 🙂

We wanted spring for weather and flower purposes. FI’s bday is a week after our wedding so that was out and beyond that it gets a little warm for my hot-blooded Fiance and my allergies get horrible

I feel like I checked 1/2 the reasons you listed!

Anniversary (4 years dating), seasonal preferances, no choice (best time for everyone to travel), same day/month as first date (again, anniversary).

    • Wedding: June 2014 - Gold Hill Gardens

Ours was a bit roundabout. We knew we wanted to get married this summer, since I am a teacher. Beyond that, we didn’t really have a date in mind. What mattered more to us was finding the right venue. Well, I went to a bridal expo and met two awesome venues that are just getting started (both have done private weddings, but are getting into the venue business). We went for visits the following weekend, and figured we should have a date we’d like, just in case, even though all we were really looking for was late June to late July. Previously, in passing, Fiance had mentioned he’d like to get married on the summer solstice, and I looked up the date. Turns out that it’s a Saturday this year! So we decided we’d try for that date, but if it didn’t happen, whatever date we could get married would work 🙂 Well, since both venues were new, neither was booked for that date, and so our date is set! And now, we will have two days to celebrate each year – the Summer Solstice AND June 21!
