We did not have any strict requirements about the date. Spring or Fall seemed the best for NYC weather, and since we were engaged in March, Fall meant not enough time/too much time for me to plan, which left Spring.
June has the best weather, but also both of our birthdays, and my grandmother’s birthday (who is 100) so there are enough parties in June, leaving May/April. Both were fine with us. The first date we asked about was booked with the church, but the second was availble with both venues, so we took it.
It ends up great, since I think May 24, 2014 is a nice sounding date, and it’s also my parent’s 30th anniversary weekend, so we can toast to them.
ETA: whoops, also it’s the day after our dating anniversary. That was just coincidence, but happy!

1. He’s only going to be back in the states for three weeks this year.
2. Our honeymoon cruise leaves June 15th so it had to be before that.
3. Our guests could only make it on a Saturday due to their work schedules.

We aren’t officially engaged yet, but we’ve decided we’d like November 22 for several reasons. Our anniversary is the 23rd, but my SO always thinks its the 22nd, so now he can be right (kinda joking… Kinda not). Most importantly it’s the Saturday before Thanksgiving, and we both get vacation time over Thanksgiving. It makes going on a honeymoon easier. We also both prefer cool weather to hot, so summer wasnt an option.

@bridetobee16: we knew we wanted a fall wedding and I loved the “look” of 10/04/14.

@bridetobee16: We originally wanted the 18th of April, as it’s the anniversary date of our first kiss, but unfortunately for us that falls on Good Friday (which would have meant no church wedding, which is important to us)… the following Saturday falls on ANZAC Day and we didn’t want to have it then either, out of respect to our troops.
We sighed and decided to take the 5th… but then we realised that was the date that we actually got talking for the first time and shared a piece of cake (at a mutual friend’s birthday party) all those years ago! Kinda cool that we’ll be sharing cake again on the same date 🙂

May will be such an exciting month for you!
I don’t blame you, I wouldn’t want to change the date for the third time! Good call on the save the dates!
I kinda had the same reasons as you. We wanted to get married before the hour falls back during Fall for daylight savings. We wanted the sunlight for outdoor pictures after the ceremony!
that is very sweet of you two. 🙂
that’s pretty cool!
Oh wow, May is a very special month for your families!
Awesome!!! You still have your lucky number hidden in your wedding date after all!
Nice! I also like the 9 days after your 9th anniversary!
That’s a perfect date for your and your FI! Who cares if it’s on a weekday! 😉

We originally picked August 10, but several people including one of my best friends couldn’t come, so we moved it to August 3! It just had to be a Saturday, and not too close to when DH was starting school. Its convenient now that our anniversary is on the August long weekend (we didn’t realize that when we decided on the date).

The story of our wedding date- we started with June 2014 on the 14th – this was mostly because we thought it would convienient for those around us- one of our sibs is a teacher and one is still in high school, so at this point they would out of school. Plus, it shouldn’t be too hot or too cold. In any event, my Mom ended up with breast cancer late in 2013, and even though she only needed 6 rounds of chemo, I didn’t want to put her though being bald and boobless at my wedding. We decided to move it to Oct. 4th, but that date didn’t work for two of our wedding party, so we moved it to Sept. 27th 2014. We are not changing it for ANYTHING.

We knew we either wanted a summer wedding, & he had vacation time either in the end of July or beginning of August. I’ve never liked the month August, and I love July, so we went with Friday, July 26th.

It was the same day/month that my Fiance first asked me out and the date he proposed . Luckily for us the date fell on a Saturday so it made sense to choose May 3.
Unfortunatley our first pick of venue wasn’t available so we had to go with somewhere else. But in the end I think it has worked out for the best.

We were bound by the dates of our honeymoon which is in mid-August, so we wanted an early August wedding, we picked the 7th because 1. it’s our 6th anniversary, 2. it’s right before our honeymoon, and 3. it’s on a Thursday so we were able to get our dream venue for a really good price. It all worked out perfectly in the end!

- Wedding: November 2014 - Serafino Wines
We wanted it towards the end of the year, close enough to summer that the weather would be nice but also far enough away from Christmas/FI’s birthday to make it a special date on it’s own. We looked at all the possible dates for November and for some reason, we were drawn to Friday the 14th. No idea why but we settled on that date. A while later, we found out that the 14th of November is actually FI’s great grandparents anniversary and on our wedding day they will be celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary! Pretty cool 🙂
