I chose a dress that shows my curves and didn’t want a veil at all in the beginning. Then my consultant made me try one just to see. Well, my mom and Maid/Matron of Honor started tearing up immediately. But I still didn’t feel like myself, so I never bought it. I instead bought an awesome flower (with Swarovski crystal to match my earrings) and will be wearing my hair down (naturally curly and CRAZY hair) because I feel more like myself that way. Then, just this past month I tried on a birdcage and LOVED IT!!! So, after allllll of that! I will be wearing a birdcage for the ceremony, and just the flower for the reception. I still feel like myself, and I still feel like a bride. Try everything on with your dress before you make a decision. And don’t rush yourself – you always have time to make a decision about your wedding day – it’s an important day for you!

I was not planning to wear one but I decided to wear a finger tip length one – wearing a veil is a once in a life time thing so I am going to wear it for the ceremony and pictures.  But for the recpetion I am going to ditch it.  I also found one I thought complimented my dress well.

Side reason was my wedding is fairly non traditional and my mother is very traditional.  So I have tried to add a few touches here and there to put her more at ease.

I knew I didn’t want one because I was never into the full on bridal look. My dress is simple and untraditional & we’re getting married on the beach, so I guess a veil is just not my style… hair flowers it is!

I wore one and I think I loved it more than my dress. There’s no other day you ever get to wear a veil! It was traditional and lovely and just made me feel like such a bride. I hated to take it off at the end of the night.

I’ve never liked any of the original meanings of the veil (hiding the bride from the groom, signifies breaking the hymen — ew…, etc.). I also don’t like how they look because they will hide the hairstyle that I’m going to be paying good money for.

I’m just overall against wearing one. lol

I never wanted one nor did I let anyone guilt me into it. I also felt too old to wear one, so I didn’t.

I am not wearing one because I don’t like them.

But I do swoon a little when I see other beach brides with their’s blowing in the wind and I also love ones with lace edgings

But they are not for me.

I wanted to wear a veil, but I think it may be too much with my dress, plus my Fiance isn’t really excied about the veil.  I am still on the fence.
