Did you get engaged on day that was special? (ie..birthday, anniversary, christmas…etc)
Or did you get engaged on a random day?
I’m not engaged yet, but I couldn’t see my boyfriend proposal on just a random day so tell me how it happened for you!

Nope ours was random. I think Fiance wanted to surprise me and knew that if he did it on a special day it wouldn’t be as much of a surprise since I might be expecting it.

It was just a random day. We’d been talking about marriage for a few months and he’d been dropping some hints. I was expecting something around Christmas or New Year’s, but instead he popped the question on September 16. Doesn’t mean anything to either of us.
I think he wanted it to be more of a surprise though which is why he didn’t wait until a holiday or something.

We got engaged at midnight on my birthday because… that was the way he planned it! I was kind of sort of expecting it because he had dropped some hints, so while I wasn’t completely surprised, I did get very teary and emotional because I was so happy! One of the happiest moments of my life.

I hope mine is on a random day…that way there is another “holiday” for us to celebrate!

Valentine’s Day. Some say cliche’…I say Perfect! My parents were engaged on V day and the stone from her ring is my center stone. I loved the symbolism:)

First day we had moved into our own apartment, I knew Fiance had the ring but I was not expecting it for that day. We moved into the apartment in December and Fiance was telling me that we wouldnt get engaged till the new year so I wasnt expecting it then.

Christmas. The ring came in a week before and I guess he decided to make it a Christmas gift!

@ChelseaGabrielle: Because it was the day the ring arrived from Fedex and my man is the WORST at keeping secrets relating to any sort of present he is giving me. As soon as he had it in his hot little hands he put it into mine!!

He proposed on Christmas Eve. We had already planned ahead and wanted to be in front of his family when it happened. They were extremely happy about it, to the point of his parents immediately asking when they’ll get grandchildren. It was quite funny.

Because that was the day he picked up the ring.

Random, surprise, and is now a special day because we got engaged. Ran to the liquor store laughing and bought a big fancy bottle of champagne. Drank it snuggling our doggie on the couch. It was a good time that I’ll remember forever. I’m glad that memory has it’s own special day.

Fiance knew he was proposing some time on our trip to NYC. He was thinking Monday, but maybe Saturday. He hadn’t fully decided. On the drive up, Saturday, I mentioned that it was the 2 year anniversary of the day we met (but not the day we started dating). That made up his mind on which day to propose!

He proposed on our three year anniversary 🙂 It was perfect and the day I hoped he would propose 🙂

@Marry Jane: I would like that too! I remember all of the dates we share.lol. like we just went out to dinner on the 4/27 for our 1 year anniversary of our home closing! haha.
@TorontoBride2be: Aww..Now you all will always remember the day you first moved in together! I love trying to remember special days with each other that are not just the standard anniversary.
@sheepandbear: Thats a good day! 🙂 ..Me and my boyfriend have been going out for 5 years so last christmas I thought he might do it that day because he kept telling me “i got you something, and you might cry…” He was so proud of himself. It was a custom diploma frame, I was wanting one so bad, did cry but was still very happy! haha
@sillysillybee: Haha. I wish my boyfriend was like that. He enjoys keeping suprises from me because he knows how curious I am.
@vegrabbit: Aww. I don’t have a ring yet, but his and my family are pushing for grandchildren. Were only 23 & 24, theres no way there getting any anytime soon!
