(Closed) Why did you (or didn't) you change your last name?

I changed my last name to my husband’s. I did it because it’s ALWAYS what I wanted to do. The thought never crossed my mind to keep my parent’s name.

He is going to take my last name. It was his idea and I find it really romantic.

I’m not changing mine. It’s such a part of my identity. I am also a professional who has a career and am recognized by my maiden name. I would of happily changed my last name at 20 but some how being in my mid 30’s I can’t part with it.

TaurianDoll :  oh my goodness….you two are equals…no woman should have to feel like she needs to be “submissive ” to her husband.  It’s 2017…if he’s insisting on this then he is being abusive.  Please….you deserve so much more than to be some “submissive” woman with her husband calling all the shots.  You are an amazing, strong woman. You deserve the world.  You are worth so much more than that….
