I feel overwhelmed trying to find where we should go for our honeymoon! There are just so many places that I would love to go, it’s hard to narrow it down. Then after deciding on a destination, the process of finding the place to stay doesn’t seem any easier. Right now we’re tossing around Jamaica, Mexico or Hawaii.Everything seems so beautiful! Of course, budget will play a price – which I believe will at least narrow it down to Jamaica or Mexico for us.
So, what was it, specifically, that made you pick your destination?

I’ve always wanted to go to Ireland, and my fiance, who’s done a good bit of traveling, had never been. The choice was simple for us!

It’s the honeymoon of my dreams. French Polynesia: Moorea and Bora Bora!!

We wanted to do a “once in a lifetime” trip and we didn’t want to spend the whole time on the beach. We want an adventure.
Front runner right now is a 2 week trip to Africa (probably Kenya) for safari and some beach time.

We went to St. Luica. We wanted to go somewhere beautiful, tropical, and different from where all of our friends have been. Plus, we loved the resort and it was perfect for us.

Because we got married last minute, it was close to our house and we could get back home to our kids if there was an emergency. Thank goodness we live near a major tourist attraction!

We live near the beach, so we don’t really care if we go anywhere tropical since we can lay on the beach anytime. And we’re using FH’s skymiles and Marriott points (the ONLY bonus to him traveling for work so much) to cover our tickets and hotels, so basically we just have to narrow down where we’d like to go, then see if US Airways flies into an airport near there, and if a nice Marriott resort is nearby. This is our next big task to tackle.

Awesome places yall have decided on!

@KatNYC2011: Ahh yay! So happy to hear that you’re doing Africa 🙂
We wanted somewhere that really required a long trip (like a 2 week honeymoon), somewhere that was more unique, and somewhere that would offer a mix of adventure and relaxation. We also wanted to go somewhere that it was unlikely we’d be able to visit that place after we had kids (that sentence doesn’t make sense, but you know what I mean). So we chose Africa–South Africa, Zambia, and Mozambique. It was truly incredible and I really REALLY want to go back and explore other parts of the continent now!

i wanted clear water and white sand – scratch the places we have already been and that helped narrow it down – heading to Jamaica in about 3 weeks!
we originally wanted to go to Costa Rica really really bad! but all the flights were overnight and that was not cool with us.

@hilsy85: Yup… your photos and info swayed me.
We probably won’t be going until Jan or Feb of 2012, but I will be PM-ing you I’m sure as we make arrangements.
And we may change from Kenya to Mozambique and/or Zambia based on your experiences.

@KatNYC2011: AHH YAY! Please feel free to PM me about any questions at all as it gets closer. I remember I was so overwhelmed at the thought of going someplace that seemed soo far away and different!
@totheislnds: Costa Rica is on our list as well! I keep hearing how beautiful it is.

@hilsy85: Costa Rica is fabulous! You should go.
I spent 6 weeks there for a summer abroad in college. We spent a lot of time in research stations in the rain forest both in northern and southern Costa Rica.
Such a beautiful country and wonderful people too. I stayed with a home stay family in San Jose for a week and they were wonderful and put up very will with my terrible Spanish.
The beaches are gorgeous, the rain forest is stunning. There’s TONs of wildlife and the food is amazing. There are a lot of Italians who moved to Costa Rica to retire.
I had some of the best Italian food I’d ever tasted (outside of Italy) from a little beach side restaurant in Costa Rica!

We were tryng to decide between France and a tropical area. Because there were so many all-inclusive deals in tropical areas, we decided on that! France will have to wait for another time. But honestly, we just wanted to be warm and sit by a pool/ocean and have fun! Plus, unlimited alcoholic drinks is just great for us 🙂
We’re going to Jamaica. Sandals Royal Caribbean to be exact.

@trugem: My fiance and I are going to St. Lucia for our honeymoon too! I am sooo excited! We chose Sandals Grande St. Lucian…CANNOT WAIT!!! I’d love to hear about your trip
